Katana Sushi Annapolis

Have been going to Joss for many years but wanted to find an alternate place to go for Sushi where I did not have to deal with traffic in downtown Annapolis or trouble getting a table. Been going to Yamato in Arnold where I live as well, but have had better. Katana fit the bill; nice dining environment, clean, quiet and the sushi was excellent, Plan to go back often now and would recommend to my friends.

Best sushi in Annapolis, hands down. I've always subscribed to the belief that Joss was the best around - which was true - but there's a new winner. I've been to Katana multiple times now (the first being their second day open) and it has never disappointed. Tonight, was the freshest fish I've EVER had - and I'm a huge fan of sushi so I eat it quite a bit. We started with the seaweed salad which tasted fresh and vibrant, served on a bed of cucumbers. Then we had the sashimi deluxe (16 pieces of sashimi) with three rolls. The sashimi deluxe came with 4 pieces each salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and escolar(white tuna). Each of these were SUPERB. FRESH. FRESH. FRESH. FRESH and tender. Then I can also recommend the spicy scallop roll with crunch.(They use a whole scallop sliced - not the scallop salad type of thing at other places, including Joss). But the roll you have to try is the Bonzai Roll. I don't even really remember everything in it, but this thing is amazing. A refreshing aspect of Katana is that all of their specialty rolls are unique. Most places have the same....Amazing roll, rainbow roll, dynamite roll, blah blah blah.



Other than the food, it's pretty quiet so a good date restaurant, plenty of parking, nice ambience, and good service. This will probably be the only sushi place I go to regularly. Wow.
