Oral Cancer Screening
Dr. Garanzuay has always been a big proponent of early and thorough screenings for all potential illnesses. A thorough, systematic oral cancer screening takes just a few minutes, and can be done during your routine check-up. Regular screenings should begin at a young age, especially for individuals who are smokers, as they are more susceptible to oral disease.

Teeth Cleaning
Sealant application is quick and painless often done the same day of your dental cleaning. First the dentist or dental hygienist will clean and dry the teeth. Next, a special gel is applied to clean the surface and give the sealant a good surface to adhere to. The dentist or dental hygienist will then wash out the gel and apply the sealant. Once the sealant is applied, a special light is used to harden the sealant.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that helps prevent cavities by strengthening the tooth's enamel. We receive fluoride through our food and drinking water, but often times the dosage is too small to adequately protect our teeth. This is where professional fluoride treatment becomes a necessity.

Root Canal Treatment
A crown procedure requires two appointments. The tooth will be anesthetized (numb) then the tooth will be prepped for the crown by removing decay, fractured or defective fillings, and/or temporary fillings placed during a root canal. The tooth will then receive a new filling (called a Build up). The tooth is then shaped to properly and precisely fit your crown. The tooth is now ready for an impression, which is a mold that will be sent out to the laboratory where your new custom crown will be fabricated. After the impression is taken, a temporary crown will be fabricated by your dentist or the dental assistant. It is important to follow all the instructions given to you by your dentist.

Deep Cleaning
Mild Periodontitis: Untreated gingivitis can periodontitis. The gums are red, swollen, bleed easy, bad smell (halitosis), and the gums start to separate from the teeth. Measurements are usually in the 4-5 mm range and require a deep cleaning also known as scaling and root planing.
