I regret working for RCPD. The management at this department is poor, and they simply forgot how to treat their officers. It is easier for the management to fire officers than defend them, and the same goes for many sergeants, lieutenants, and other supervisors on this department. There is a lot of prejudice on this department. The micromanagement is through the roof, unfortunately too many supervisors of RCPD only know how to micromanage officers, they simply lost their people skills! Suggestion to people who want to apply to RCPD : You want to be a cop, do not apply to RCPD, you will get fired for doing your job, and the management will make sure that your career in law enforcement will be ruined for life, the management at RCPD is well known for that ! The only way to succeed at RCPD if you are a relative or a spouse of someone who works there, it is all about connections! Oh and if they do not like you because of your race, gender, and national origin, background, etc, they will make your life a nightmare. The employees at RCPD have their own "clicks", and if you are not one of them, good luck on getting a back up, and you simply will not fit in! Suggestion people, before you are traumatized for life by RCPD, think at least ten times before you fill out an application, save yourself the time, nerves, and health! The management at RCPD has no remorse or empathy, and they will laugh at you as they will stomp on your throat, multiple times! By the way PBPA Police Union will not defend you either. It is yet to be determined if the PBPA Union works for the officers or management! And guess what when you will get called in for a b.s anonymous complaints that actually never took place, the management will tell you as they will give you a minimum a letter of reprimand : " we are just trying to make you a better officer" ! The rule of thumb is : keep your mouth shut when that door closes behind you in a Shift Commanders Office, because everything you say will be used against you, and you will always be guilty, until proven innocent!! And even if you are innocent, your supervisors will make sure that it will go in your evaluation, unless of course you have connections!! Good luck!
