Teeth Cleaning
Dental Sealants
Cavity formation can be understood readily through an equilibrium process between demineralization and remineralization, and the bacteria acting as an intermediate agent without which the demineralization process will not take place. For example, consumption of diet high in sugar content in combination with poor oral hygiene results in formation of acids by oral bacteria causing demineralization of tooth structure and therefore by defination a cavity. On the other hand, remineralization process can be favored by practicing good oral hygiene, appropriate use of dentifrices and healthy proper diet low in sugar content. The following photograph shows cavity on chewing surface, also known as pit and fissure caries, which can easily be avoided through good oral hygiene and placement of dental sealants immediately following eruption of these teeth.

Fillings
Veneers
Post-operative: Final laboratory fabricated bonded porcelain veneer restoration reveals its vitality through gradation of colors, translucencies, textures, and shape, which harmonizes and blends with its surrounding teeth and gingival tissue.
Crowns
Using Cerec CAD/CAM Technology, this tooth was restored with porcelain overlay/crown which effectively seals and enhances the integrity of the remaining tooth structure through adhesive bonding.
Bridges
This patient presented with interproximal cavities, failing existing restorations (fillings, crowns and bridges) and history of periodontal (gum) disease which caused her to loose some of her teeth and her supporting bone level.

Unlike restorative dentistry where the foundation (whether it is tooth or gingival tissue) for the building blocks (restorative materials) are already present, reconstructive dentistry requires re-establishment of the foundation and sufficient understanding of the masticatory system where interplay between joint, muscle, and teeth becomes very important.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal therapy may be necessary in the last effort to salvage the infected tooth from caries, fractures, and trauma. Even though there are similarities in the root canal system in each type of tooth (i.e. incisors, bicuspids, molars), no two teeth have the exact same root canal system.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
A limited orthodontic therapy was carried out on Maxillary dentition to reposition Maxillary right lateral incisor into it's original position to obtain right and left symmetry and to obtain more favorable tip and torque of the maxillary dentitions. A full mouth bleaching was done and gingivoplasty or gum lift was also performed on the central incisors to obtain proper gingival height and symmetry in relation to those of lateral incisors and canines. Finally, the central incisors were very conservatively prepared for veneers which were then fabricated with CEREC technology and bonded in place. This case shows the integration of various disciplines in dentistry in addressing patient's concerns and achieving a successful result.
Deep Cleaning
Non-surgical periodontal therapy (scaling and root planning), gingival recontouring, and temporization of the failing bridges were carried out to allow proper healing of the gingival tissue.

Dentures
Replacement of missing or lost tooth can be accomplished with a fixed bridge or a removable partial denture. However, in this day of age, dental implants have become mainstream in the treatment of replacing missing teeth. The main reason being that the dental implants have a significantly higher long-term success rate and do not involve other adjacent teeth compared to other means of treatment. Even though dental implants are dissimilar in many ways to natural dental roots that they replace and the management of soft and hard tissue that surrounds it can be challenging at times, dental implants are the closest to dental roots we have today. The following photographs show the use of dental implant in replacing a missing tooth.

Dental Implants
Modern dentistry is evolving at a very fast pace and advancements in material science and technology have dramatically changed the way we practice dentistry even within the last five years. For instance, improvements in the development of computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology along with advances in composite and porcelain restorative materials have tremendously increased the precisional fit of our restorations to within microns. Furthermore, dental implants are now the treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth with long-term reported success rate of greater than 98%. Current research in synthesis of natural teeth is promising, and perhaps someday we all can grow tooth as we need it, and by that time many forms of restorative and replacement therapies including implants will then become obsolete.

Invisalign Orthodontics
Having that said, traditional orthodontic treatment involves the use of brackets and wire to gradually move teeth to their desire position whereas invisalign, or any type of clear aligners for that matter, employs clear rigid sequential trays to advance teeth to their final and determined position. In general, both systems are effective in orthodontic movement of teeth; however, each system has its' own advantages and limitations depending on the type of tooth movement required.
Braces
Also called metal-free braces, it is a technology utilizing set of clear aligners (clear rigid individualized trays) to move teeth in a desired direction to accomplish proper alignment of upper and lower teeth, which maximizes function and esthetics and minimizes premature wear and chipping of teeth from poor alignment. The advantages of aligners are that they are invisible once worn and oral hygiene is no longer an issue since aligners can be removed for routine brushing and flossing, unlike traditional metal braces which not only is unsightly in adults but maintaining good oral hygiene can be a challenge.

Teeth Whitening
An in-office light activated tooth whitening system which has been shown to increase the efficiency of tooth whitening. Over the years, many over the counter tooth whitening systems have become available, and some have been shown to be effective. However, these systems are not individualized and are not well controlled and therefore they have a greater tendency to cause inadvertent gingival irritation and uneven tooth whitening.
