Not sure what to think

I started going to CCV a few weeks ago with a friend. At first I enjoyed it but I am becoming more and more disheartened. I am starting to see it is just another mega money grubbing monopoly using fear mongering. I have to say the head pastor is a smooth operator, but anytime a pastor even suggests turning over your 401K to him to him scares the h*ll out of me.

Truth only

Saw a video online about a tour of the campus, and was horrified to hear this leader named Gary say that they avoid phrases such as 'having a relationship with Christ', as it might scare people away. That is bordering on blasphemy. Oh well, if entertainment is what you're looking for with no apparent alter call, commitment, or relationship with CHRIST, this is the place for you.Matthew 7:13-14

I have not been able to visit your church since my wife and I live in Ollahoma City, but as always, I appreciate Don's messages via this medium. The many avenues of ministry of your church are truly amazing.I pray for your church and outreach. You are a tremendous example for God's Kingsdom.

Social club

This place is a clear example of the last days lukewarm, apostate laodicean curch, it s more like a disco night club than a Chist honoring church, no gospel at all, just religious entertainment.

CCV Surprise - Lacking

CCV Surprise would be a good church to attend if the emphasis was on bringing people to God. It seems to be more on finances, sure the word is preached (via big screen recording) but there is no "closing". After the sermon the service ends abruptly with no opportunity for those wanting to declare for Christ the opportunity to do so; It seems they plant the seeds but never harvest. Neither is there an opportunity to pray with a minister after the service for those needing support. We attend when we are late for services elsewhere (it is in the neighborhood).I would never have come to Christ had not I been given the opportunity to do so after service at our last home (out of state). I feel they are missing out on reaping a great harvest for God. I hope that the staff reads this.

Entertainment/salvation?

Entertainment or church? I understand the church might make you feel good & tickle your ears..however what is church teaching for salvation? If its non denominational then how is one to be saved if its not taught? What scripture is it in the bible that speaks of teachings that will tickle the ears of the saints?

CCV is a blessing

CCV is NOT a Catholic church. We are an Evangelical church. The look of the church attracts people, but the spirit of God is what keeps them there. I've been attending and volunteering at CCV for over 8 years now. The people that I have met and worked with there are like family. What CCV is doing for the youth is outstanding. God has truly blessed CCV and the people that go there.

See for yourself!

I have been attending CCV since about July and I have to say I love it! I have never left a service feeling disappointed or wanting more. Everytime I leave I feel, uplifted, happy, revived and ALIVE! I was brought up in a religious home and taught christian beliefs, but I never was to interested in going to church as it was boring, dull and I never was able to relate to the message. CCV is the complete opposite, it's welcoming, friendly and I can relate to every message in my own personal life! I am so glad I have brought this church into my life and I am excited to see what the future brings for me and CCV!

Great Experience...

My wife and I have been attending CCV for a few months now and I must admit it has changed my mind about church. Sure there are a lot of theatrics and is way different then the "serious" church's I used to go too but then one day while driving to work I started singing one of the many songs that the service the previous sunday had on and I had never done that before. It made me think differently about the theatrics and really saw it working within me. I was thinking about God each day of the week and not just on Sunday (saturday for us)when at the "serious" church it felt more like a chore to go. The other great thing is Pastor Don Wilson...he brings a lot of enthusiasm into his message and really challenges you in your everyday life. He tells it like it is and doesn't candy coat anything and I have great respect for that. The only gripe we've had is that they focus the church in general to getting more men to attend, which is understandable, but what about single mothers?

All you could ever want.

We've been going to CCV for just about a year now and love it. At first it was almost overwhelming, as we are from a Catholic background. All the music and enthusiasm was over the top. Now that I've grown accustomed to the change, it's definitely our church home and we are proud to be there. I am very involved with this organization through volunteering, so I've seen it inside and out. The people, and pastor, are truly genuine at heart and have the best interest of Jesus and its followers in mind. The place is over the top, on fire for Jesus, and shares it's joy with the community--exactly what I wanted in a church. You can help but smile when you're part of something so great. Thanks for the last 11 months CCV and we wouldn't know what to do without you. Chris and Maggie Lyles

Not as much theatrics as one might think...

While I do not go to CCV, I do know the church and it's reputation. It is a very biblical church, very rooted in providing stong roots in grace and biblical teaching. It does have a great number of resources available to it which might seem theatrical, but the heart of the pastor and congregation is top notch, seeking only to do things in a more excellent way for God's kingdom, so yes, this is what I want, not from religion, but from relationship.

Amazing!

This church is absolutely amazing. The Pastor Don tells it like it is. He isn't afraid to preach the Bible. He tells us what we need to hear, not just what we want to hear. Now, CCV is a huge church. If you are looking for fellowship with believers, I recommend getting involved in a neighborhood group. These groups are very friendly and real. You will find it hard to build relationship by only coming to church on the weekends.

Friendly

Everyone is very friendly and made us feel welcome when we were new to the church. We have attended for years now and still enjoy it. We realy like the educational classes for children and adults.

First impressions say it all

While I am not a parishoner at this church, I must share with you my family's experience here. ###It is a gorgeous facility. It has all the bells and whistles. The bathrooms are very impressive. The numbers are staggering when it comes to membership. It has everything that a church-goer would want.###But, it feels empty. Like fast-food. Theatrics at its best. Parishoners are seemingly being entertained, not worshipping.###The Christmas mass was spectacular. My oldest son said it all with "Now, this is my kind of Catholic"; as a 10 year old, he was duely impressed with the lion on stage and the replication of the wardrobe.###Entertainment at its best. Is this what you want from your religion??

Great kid environment

This is a very friendly church with a lot of great children's services. They even have a class for kids with special needs so they can participate.
