River City Veterinary Hospital and Resort

Brought in very sick kitten with diarrhea. Dr Moore and said she needed to order a drug that would help. It arrived two days later and I was told to come in. When I got there Dr. Martinez refused to dispense it along with another drug I needed to pick up and said I had to wait 4 days to see the Dr. Moore. I told them that the kitten might not make it until then and she didn't care. Since then I have been trying to call to get the medication and they just keep hanging up on me.

I’m very disappointed with River City Vet. Because they only care about the money and not the pets they care for. My dog has to take Apoquel for his allergies. It is very expensive medicine but it works great. They told me I had to bring my dog in for a check up before they would prescribe it. So I did take him 45.00 and then they said “state law “ they had to give him a rabies shot another 30.00. I bought a few pills from them and told them to send the prescription to Chewy who has it cheaper. I ordered it from Chewy that Monday night. It took River City till Friday to send the prescription. So we are still waiting to get his medicine. It’s sad to see my dog suffer because of them. I did everything right, but they don’t like to cooperate with Chewy. Im changing vets. I guess they have to pay for that big fancy building.

My experience is with the boarding, the so-called "pet resort". I went in and looked at everything, asked questions before taking my dog in. I boarded her for 3 days. When I picked her up, everything she had smelled of urine, her rear end was matted, stained with urine & feces, her bowl was caked with old food and the oil she has added to it. They hadn't put the top back on the oil properly, so it had leaked down into her food--since oil goes bad, and since she's on a measured dose, I had to throw away the rest of the food I took in. These people are not doing any kind of care-taking, so if you care about your animals DON'T LEAVE THEM HERE TO BOARD. They also are pretty expensive for this area, which is money for NOTHING.
