Ultrasound
Uroflowmetry measures the speed and volume at which you urinate, and to perform this test, you must come to testing with a full bladder. If the flow is weak when measured, that will be evidence of weak bladder muscles or urine blockages. The postvoid residual test will show how much urine is left in the bladder after urinating. It can be measured by a catheter or ultrasound and is indicative of whether or not the bladder is emptying entirely when urinating. A cytometric test measures the pressure as the bladder fills up and gauges at which volume the urge to urinate happens. Other tests measure leaks and nerve or muscle damage that could contribute to irregularities.
MRI
A diagnostic laparoscopy procedure is not typically the first thing we recommend for identifying problems, but it is an effective tool for finding the source of an issue when nothing else works.
