She attended Auburn University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She then attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, under a presidential scholarship. After completion of her clinical externships, she graduated as a Doctor of Optometry.
