Scuttlebutt's Seafood Bar & Grill

We were introduced to Scuttlebutt's a few years ago. Every time we are in the Corpus area we always plan to eat there. It's a very popular place so depending on what time you arrive, you should expect to wait for a table. They have a very good selection of beer on tap but also have a full bar. The food has always been fantastic. Some of our favorites are the crab sandwich, which someone will order every time we are there and the peel and eat shrimp are outrageously fantastic (I wish I had their secret). I will often eat those for my entire meal...they are so good. Our friends moved there from being stationed overseas in Japan and they love the sushi there. They are very picky about sushi since they experienced the best while overseas. The seafood has always been fresh and delicious. Those are the types of food items we order when there although they do have a variety of menu items.

Always great food with a huge selection. There is something for everyone. Always fun with live music, pool tables and arcade games.

probably one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I ever had. We were sat at a table next to the server's station and got to look at a large trash can overflowing with trash and food. next to that was a 5 gallon bucket where liquids like water and coke were emptied and a pile of dirty dishes. They finally emptied the trash can after we told them why we wanted to move. We waited forever for our food to arrive. Server came by at least 3 times to tell us they were backed up in the kitchen. The quality of the meal was just ok. Certainly not worth the 10.99 for the stuff mushrooms. When we got back to the hotel I check some reviews. Appears this place is very very inconsistent. We went on a recommendation from the hotel, never again.
