Kern County Career Services Center, based in Bakersfield, Calif., is governed by the county government. The center provides employers with an access to its database of skilled and unskilled professional, technical and entry-level applicants. It offers a wide range of services, including applicant recruitment and screening, on-the-job training incentives and tax credits, Internet resources for business, and testing and interviewing facilities. The center s range of services for candidates, such as jobseeker services and job listings, placement assistance, training and education, resume assistance, unemployment insurance assistance and job search workshops. Its training unit offers several training programs in retail skills, job readiness, barber training, bookkeeping, medical office work and medical assisting, general clerical, and truck driver and auto mechanics training.
