Your mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser and, in as little as two to three minutes, the laser renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you'll then be able to follow the progress of the scans, including a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. The iTero scanner can be used for any restorative treatment including crowns, veneers, inlays/onlays, bridges, and implants, as well as orthodontic treatments like Invisalign®.

Being the only applicant for periodontics residency in her class, she managed to do multiple periodontal surgeries in a dental school clinic before entering her residency.

Ryan brings six years of experience in the dental field, with most of that time working in the Periodontal and Oral Surgery specialty fields. This follows over a decade in Retail Management, where he worked with companies from Wilsons Leather to Bartell Drugs. Ryan’s focus is ensuring that every patient’s experience is as positive and comfortable as possible and that all people are treated fairly, compassionately, and with respect. When not at work you can find Ryan either cooking along with the Food Network in the background or planning his next visit to Puerto Vallarta.

Bone Grafting
Patients that have previously been told that they are not candidates for implant surgery should know that there are now many options for the augmentation of bone that DO NOT rely on bone being taken from other parts of the jaw or from the hip. Bone regeneration and bone grafting can now conservatively be completed using various forms of allografts (donated bone) and bone morphogenetic protein infused grafts. Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMP) are a family of proteins that are expressed throughout life in all our body systems. When used in conjunction with bone grafting procedures these BMP's help recruit bone producing cells to the areas where augmentation is required. These are comfortable outpatient procedures that have less morbidity and discomfort associated with them than traditional forms of more invasive grafting.

Periodontal Plastic Surgery (PPS) is a subspecialty of Periodontics that Dr. Thomas Kang, Dr. Kevin Suzuki, Dr. Allen Liu, Dr. Jessica Hsu, Dr. Jenna Cha, Dr. Gretchen Stern and Dr. Ehsan Zahedi have an interest and advanced training in. PPS is useful for patients that are considering other forms of cosmetic dentistry or may be unhappy with the way their smile looks because of excess gum tissue or a reduction in the amount of gum around the teeth. A “gummy smile” is one where during normal development full exposure of the tooth did not occur. As a result teeth may appear “too short” for a patient’s smile.

Shannon has been a dental assistant for the past ten years mainly working with general dentistry and within the community clinics, Muckleshoot Health and Wellness Center being my most recent. Shannon enjoys getting to know her patients and helping improve their dental hygiene. She strives to make sure her patients dental experience is one in which they are excited to have treatment and leave knowing they have been cared for. In her free time, she enjoys spending most of her time with her family and her dog. Shannon lives by having a positive mindset where she loves to laugh, learn (anything and everything) and with a commitment to enjoy life!
