Jimmy is a professional craftsman with many years of experience and well known and recommended by the community. He had design ideas for fixing a unique problem with my kitchen. Jimmy was very punctual, professional, and everything was cleaned up each day. I recommend Jimmy to everyone.

We first hired Jimmy in 2005 to build an art studio room for my wife in 1/3 of our 2-car garage. This was a big change for the new home we had just moved into, and Jimmy made it far more than favorable! We knew we could trust Jimmy right from the start because he gave us lots of guidance on materials, design and trade-offs between quality and cost. We are still happy with the choices Jimmy helped us make; and the construction and detailing have held up extremely well.

We subsequently have hired Jimmy for all of our home improvement projects, including a deck project that included putting in new floor boards in the Fall of 2009, and then putting up screened walls and a roof over the deck the following Spring. Jimmy hired a colleague to assist with the construction, and he too was very knowledgeable, skilled and fun to have around. Again Jimmy made sure we were getting the best materials for the cost, something that is not so easy with the condition of today's lumber supply. Everyone who visits us remarks at the beautiful quality of the wood beams, and the quality construction. We will continue to hire Jimmy for all our home improvement projects from renovations to sealing the cedar siding on the house.

Jimmy has always been professional, reasonable, friendly, and prompt when we have used his services for any projects around our home. We know when to expect him, which is helpful so no one in our home is surprised by an unexpected arrival. He works collaboratively with my husband, who likes being involved with a project, and consults us before making any changes. We will certainly call him again for future projects.

Jimmy has done a couple of jobs at my home. I usually do home repairs myself, but I called Jimmy to install a door and a window for me. I called him because I have known him for years; next time I'll call him because I know he does great work.

Jimmy Pohl is a diverse and skilled handyman. Through Favorable Changes, he has worked on many projects in my home, both large and small. 2 years ago, Jimmy built a gorgeous master bath for us. This included putting in a new tub, faux marble surrounds and vanity counter, lighting fixtures, closet doors, not to mention painting the walls. We absolutely love our new space, and everyone who sees it comments on how beautiful it is.

Jimmy has also fixed furniture, taken "pop corn" off our ceilings, installed lighting in various rooms, and installed a vent over our stove. He has even been happy to solve problems I have had with my dish washer and garbage disposal.

We hired Jimmy Pohl of Favorable Changes to put in a back deck at ground level. While we were originally thinking wood, Jim pointed out the pros and cons of wood vs. concrete, concerns about drainage, and alternative ways to reach our goal. We ended up with a beautiful aged and stamped concrete patio for LESS than the wooden deck would have cost...one strong enough to hold a hot tub, and a deck that would be very long lasting. No other contractor gave us the information, consideration, nor thought through the problems we might encounter as did Jimmy.



We have since hired Jimmy to do some minor repairs, oversee new gutter replacement, and have a long list of small repairs for him to do for us "when he has time". He is honest, provides a lot of information when asked as well as alternative solutions, provides good quality (great for a teacher on a budget), and is a great conversationalist!
