30+years

I can say in the last 30+ years i lived in this area i have had family from myself to parent children and even grand children come in and out of the hospital. The treatment and care that these family members have recieved is first class and it shows that there are great people that still care for what they are doing to help the needy.
Please don't think that i have had only good expirences here because there has been a few time that i was at my wits end and was very upset with things that had been transpireing to my loved ones. when that started to happen that were nurses that would listen to my concerns doctors that would give direction if needed to numerous other staff that took the time to help and make the feeling change to the positive side.
i have eve had the pleasure of the Security staff, that would walk me to my vehicle when i was leaving after dark.

I can be thankful there is a wonderful place like this with in short distance, that truley cares for the families and patients.

I’m a patient of ST Johns clinic Mendelson and Kornblum. I’ve been treated with respect and dignity every visit. Diagnosis is on point as I prepare for spinal surgery at ST Johns Macomb. I trust I’m in good hands. Hospital registration was polite and courteous as they type and cross match for blood products if need be. I read so many inappropriate comments regarding ER visits. As a nurse not currently practicing I’m going to set the record straight. One gentleman that was there when his dad went into Er stated it’s not sterile. Omg ER is not OR and not sterile when you think 🤔 about sick 😷 ppl come into ER germs are everywhere. The woman that said her husband had an ongoing problem should Not have been but following up with primary. ER is not your Dr ppl their only job is to stabilize you Send you Home to follow up with your PRIMARY Dr. Or admit you for further tests or surgery Stop whining ppl and accept that you are responsible for your own health. Gee!

I came here about a week ago, terrified with horrible pain in my ovary. I was horrified that a cyst was bursting. The nurse gave me morphine, then the dr came in talking about my ovary being removed.. Horrified, we sit waiting for my ultrasound and my pain was still at about a 6. I asked for more medication, and was just screwed around. Nurses and doctors standing/sitting around chatting it up as I'm in tears and fuming..When he discharged me and said he wrote me prescriptions i asked him what they were. He had the audacity to ask what I wanted. I told him if its Motrin to just rip it up, I wish Motrin would work for me! He gave me Motrin and Norco and said "thats all I'm going to get" as if I asking for anything more than what he gave me... I will never go here again. I have never been so angry and left to be in such pain in any trip to a hospital before. If one has a cyst, with history of them, and endometriosis.. don't let them sit in pain.

I typically do not post these types of reviews but I believe it should be known what a horrible, disgusting and disrespectful facility St. John Macomb is. My father was recently rushed, via ambulance, to this disgrace of a hospital and was treated with utter disrespect. I arrived at the hospital shortly after he did and was treated in the same manner. The paramedics spoke about him, in front of him, as if he was not in the ambulance and made him very uncomfortable. I had several questions for the Emergency Room Physician which were all answered with “he will have to follow-up with his primary physician”. With the state that my father was in, I do not believe he should have been released and neither do the nurses I work with at my place of business. He was thankfully able to get in to see his primary physician a few days later. The floor of the hospital is absolutely disgusting; I do not understand how the environment can be considered clean let alone sterile. They misplaced my father’s insurance card and driver’s license and insisted that I had lost it and that they were “typically pretty good about returning those items”. After about 20 minutes they finally returned both cards as they were not given to me. No apology for their rude behavior was offered or even a “you are welcome” after my thanking them for the return.

I would strongly advise taking yourself or loved one to any other hospital in the vicinity if you wish to be treated like a human being.

I was there yesterday and that place was dirty and disgusting, I was yelled at by the nurse because I just wanted to see what was taking so long and was told that there were 26 patients and 2 doctors and my pain wasn't bad that I will be waiting a very long time so I left and when I did, I got an attitude from the nurse asking why I was leaving

After going to this ER for the...

After going to this ER for the same problem for the past 15 years, this hospital has done next to nothing to provide diagnosis, pain/suffering relief, & proper treatment. They continue to cherry pick, show mental & physical abuse & afflict severe discrimination. Please help put a stop to this montrosity.

DO NOT USE THE LAB!!

My husband took a stool specimen to the outpatient lab for processing, and the "lab tech" ( I use this very loosely),made my husband take a knife and scrap the poop into the "wrong testing kits" himself. My husband has NO medical training and now not only did he play with poop but it was all for nothing as it was placed into incorrect lab containers. AVOID THIS PLACE. I was an RN at this hospital 15 years ago, WOW, how it has gone down!!

Having Tori

I took my lamaze class for my first child here, back in 1996. At the time they were remodeling the maternity ward, it was so exciting to see what they were doing. When I became pregnant again in 2007, I immediatly arranged to have my baby at St. John Macomb. It was a wonderful experience. I had a c-section each time I delivered, the first delivery was horrible, as was the recovery. However, the second delivery was fabulous, the staff was great and very attentive. I would highly recommend this hospitals maternity ward.
