I wish that I had seen all of ...

I wish that I had seen all of the reviews here before I made my decision to use this company. I shopped around for a price and they do have the best price (their only positive). They seem friendly but customer service is not something they care about. The guy came to my office to replace my windshield and all seemed to go well. The next morning on my way to work it started raining so I turn on my windshield wipers and...nothing happens. They made noise but did nothing. Terrified, I pulled to the side of the interstate and get out to inspect the problem, thinking that the guy forgot to put them back on or something. They were there, but instead of going up they were trying to go down. The rain managed to stop and I made it to work where I promptly called and let them know the issue. They seemed very apologetic and sent the guy back out to meet me to have it fixed. After 45 minutes of him taking the wipers off and on and pulling things out and pulling on wires under the hood and eventually messing around in the fuse box, he couldn't figure out what was wrong and they weren't working. He gives his rehearsed "I'm a glass guy, not an electric one...I've been doing this 25 years and never had a problem like this." He said he'd give me his boss's business card to talk it out. After putting everything back together and before he leaves, he suggests we try it just once more...ALAS! The wipers work perfectly. Hmm...strange. Nonetheless we're both pleased and go our separate ways. When I'm leaving work that evening, I turn my car on and a strange indicator light begins flashing on my dashboard saying "Parking Brake Fault". Irritated I ignore it and drive home, but before I get there a fuse falls out of the fuse box under the steering wheel and lands on my foot. Now I'm very irritated and let my husband know when I get there. He looks around at the box and under the hood and like someone with common sense, says "I don't know anything about Volkswagens so I'm not even going to try and mess with anything." this statement should have been said by the glass technician to avoid all of these issues. The last straw was then the next morning when I was driving to work again on the interstate when my wiper blade flies off while the wipers are on. In the rain.

I call them back when I get into the office and explain it all very calmly and ask for a suggestion on next steps. I offer to take it to a repair shop and have them determine if the fault is because of pulled wires or a fuse (their fault) or something unrelated that I would take care of. I'm quickly told that "There's no way this is their fault and the technician said that someone had obviously been under the hood and messed with all of the wiring and he should have charged me $100 the day before for coming out to help me." In a condescending tone he did offer to buy me a wiper blade. He reiterated that in all his 25 years he's never had an issue like this and it's clearly unrelated to them. I (again, calmly) said that all I know is I've had the car for well over a year and never had a single issue with any of the above. And for it to all happen immediately after having the windshield replaced seems like more than a coincidence. He said he was done with the conversation and hung up.

AVOID THIS PLACE!! I know their price is cheaper, but I've used Glass Masters before and they're more than willing to meet his price to do the work. The only reason I didn't use them was because he could come sooner, which is now such a horrible mistake.

Also, the guy doing the work was friendly and more than willing to help me, so my issue stands with his lack of knowledge for anything other than glass and the manager who is rude and clearly only cares about turning a profit, rather than having customers who feel safe and satisfied with his work.
