I recently had my 9 week old Lovebird admitted to Central Veterinary Hospital in Valley Stream due to a liver problem. I could not have taken him to a better place. The doctors, technicians, and staff were all very informative, sensitive, and very kind. Doctor Spyder Lawson especially went above and beyond taking care of my Echo during his six day stay. She called me every morning with an update and stayed on the phone endlessly answering my many questions each time she called. She went out of her way and made time early in the mornings to check in on my bird and call me on the days she was not scheduled to be in the hospital. She also made the time to take me in for a visit with my Echo during his stay. She was very caring and throughly involved with the well being of my bird. A very exceptional, compassionate, and dedicated veterinarian. Another exceptional person is Mike. I would call around ten at night to check up on my Echo. Mike was always very polite and spent time answering whatever questions I had or would find a doctor who could give me information on Echo. I would definitely use this hospital again and will definitely stay with Doctor Spyder Lawson. She is the best.

I took my 15 year old dog in with some serious problems and I had to have her put down that night. They were very nice through out the very sad ordeal until the end. I had a coupon of theirs with me for $50.00 dollars of the visit. However, being wrapped up in the moment of putting my dog of 15 years down, I forgot to give them the coupon. I got home ten minutes later and realized I forgot to give them the coupon and called them up. I explained that I had just left ten minutes ago and I was very upset about my dog and would bring the coupon back in a few minutes. They said we are sorry about your dog but once you pay the fee you can not use the coupon, no exceptions. As you can see from the other reviews, their first priority is $$$, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Could be great but they only care about money. Keep the animal for minor ailments then pad the bill before letting him go home
I had my dog there 2005 she became suddenly Ill and they admitted her to do tests and ran an IV for three days they keep her said she would be coming home on day four after "recovering"but day two they called for me to settle up the bill and the morning of day three she died I requested to see the record and found out they had saw a mass but other than X-ray no other tests were done If she was unsalable they should have notified me so I could put her down but they left her with an iv in a cage for three days

if I could give this plan negative stars I would! they re only interested in money and nothing more! I brought my dog in because she was clearly in pain and uncomfortable. she was and older dog and we thought it was time to put her down. we called the office and made an emergency apt. upon bringing her in they took her temp and heart rate ., we asked if the doctor thought it was premature to put her down but to leave her over night to run tests and that would run as about $3K. we did not have that much at the time but asked if we could work out a payment plan which they turned down. she then told us that the ASPCA was a cheaper solution and give us documentation to call there. they did however charge us $135 for the visit. on our way to the ASPCA my dog died lying on the back set of our car. no dignity in that AT ALL! how do you claim to be a vet but not know the signs that a day is on their last breath? when we called back to tell them this they denied every saying any of this and told us they would not return our money! please don't bring your dog here and don't give them any of your business!!

Please Listen, this is quality care for your pets. Don't dont don't listen to any bad reviews. In terms of care, clean faculty, and loving staff it doesn't get better. There is no where else I trust with the care of my beloved pets. Those people who dissed it are not knowledgable on what a good vet is! They want to compare it to 99 cent care well it's not. They are amazing and open 24hrs. My cat and bunny were both treated exceptionally well. And the staff is sincere and loving. They treated my cat with care and love. They showed us the operating room, the X-ray room, and his icu room. It was amazing. Please please do not listen to these ridiculous one star loser reviews. They are idiots. I have been to every vet in queens, Long Island, and manhattan and this is by far the best. Take your beloved pet and go. I am a real pet owner.

Upon returning home from church on Christmas Eve, we found that our dog had vomited in numerous places in the living room. At first, we weren't too concerned, but she continued to vomit, which began to appear in neon colors! As my son was caring for her, he noticed her heart racing. By this time, we figured out she had somehow gotten a plate of rainbow cookies, covered in chocolate, off the table. As we were familiar with Central Veterinary Associates in Valley Stream, we immediately called them and made arrangements to bring her in. They gave her a thorough examination and kept her for a couple of days till she was out of danger. We were very thankful to the vets and staff. Whenever we take a pet to CVS, we are treated like family. The quality of the love 'n care is optimum. We highly recommend Central Veterinary Associates.

We had four turtles that had experienced a traumatic event while we were away. Three seemed to be in a coma on a Sunday, and we searched the Yellow Pages for an emergency vet. My son interviewed each one, and we decided to take the turtles to Central Veterinary Associates. Unfortunately, the vet confirmed our worst fears that the three had died. However, they were able to care for the remaining turtle, a red-eared slider with severe burns. They hospitalized her for more than a month. She was on intravenous and had a feeding tube at one point. She also laid an egg and they got sand to try to incubate it. After her hospitalization, they gave her antibiotic shots every other day for months with slight breaks. Because her immune system was challenged, she kept getting another infection and we'd be back to shots again. All of the vets, tech staff, receptionists, etc. took amazing care of her and us. She is alive, now, a year later and thriving. God Bless Central Veterinary Associates!

I have been bringing my dog to CVA for a few months now. When things got extremely bad with ear infections they did everything to find out the reason behind the infections. Turns out my dog has allergies and they have been taking good care of him and giving a through check up everytime I bring him in for an injection. I trust this vet with my dog's life over other vets. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been a patient with CVA for over 10 years, when my local vet joined the group, and have been happy to continue with them even as I moved to a different neighborhood. They have been lifesavers, literally, for my cat. While some of the doctors do not seem as warm and fuzzy as others, all of them are caring and involved in the welfare of their patients, and make sure that the pets under their care get the treatment that they need. Even the staff are fantastic. Everyone I have met at CVA has been friendly and warm. I would gladly recommend using them for the care and welfare of your pets.

I love the hours of their office. I have a busy work schedule and I love the fact that this practice is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I take my two cats, to their Valley Stream location. My first tip to any new patients would be to park in the lot behind the office. It is a free, safe parking lot. If you park on Merrick Road, you will need to pay for a meter. The reception staff is attentive and caring. The office is always immaculate. The longest I have waited with my cat is about ten minutes. I make my appointments with Dr. Aaron Vine. He has an outstanding bedside manner. He is attentive and knowledgeable. My cat, is very anxious and can be upset (aggressive) at the office. Dr. Vine and his technician, Dawn, always make Jackson comfortable and relaxed. They are professional and courteous. Dr. Vine always performs a thorough examination. He explains everything to me an keeps me in the loop. I would suggest this office to anyone with a pet!

I have been bringing my dog to Central Vet for about 7 years now. I am happier with this vet hospital than I ever was with any of the others I went to. The staff is friendly but the vets are top notch. They know how to diagnose correctly and never over charged me once. I came to them for the same issue another hospital charged me over $1000 for. They gave me a perscription for the same issue when it reoccurs and it worked! I highly recommend them!
