General Info

Dr. Mershon was born and raised in Colorado. He attended both Arvada West & Arvada high schools. He moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University, where he majored in biology. After earning those degrees he returned to his beloved state of Colorado. He worked at Colorado’s largest full-service dental laboratory, where he quickly learned vital skills such crown, bridge, denture, and implant fabrication. Growing up the son of a carpenter meant that Dr. Mershon was taught very early on how to fix just about anything, and these skills proved to be extremely valuable in the dental laboratory. To further his dental experience before applying to dental school, he began working as an orthodontic assistant for Dr. Hilary Baskin. After being accepted in Marquette University’s School of Dentistry, Dr. Mershon moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for his postgraduate, doctoral education. After earning his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and Sciences he was accepted into Marquette University’s orthodontic program. He eagerly moved back to Denver after completion of the orthodontic program and rejoined Dr. Baskin in 2007. Dr. Mershon holds memberships in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, Colorado Dental Association, Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, and Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists. He has also been interviewed for numerous newspaper articles such as Colorado Parent Magazine as a dental expert. He also has a passion for treating patients with developmental disabilities and sensory issues. As a father of three young children, Dr. Mershon spends most of his out-of-office time changing diapers, helping with homework, playing hide & seek, and wrestling. Dr. Mershon is married to his everything, Becky. He enjoys basketball, golf, football, camping, and hiking, and is particularly fond of any professional team from the Denver area!
