Tree removals are performed to eliminate dead and dying trees as well as those that have become hazardous. Removals can also be useful in eliminating competition for light and space so that the remaining plants are better able to grow and thrive. In some cases, trees may also be removed to allow for new construction, home additions and to provide clearances with those structures.
Stump Grinding and Removal
For our stump grinding / stump removal services, we use self-propelled, light weight stump grinders. This virtually eliminates lawn damage when getting to and from the stump removal areas.
Crown Reduction
Storm Damage Cleanup
You should never “top” a tree. “Topping” a tree is indiscriminately-removing the top of the tree in order to shorten its height. It will shorten the lifespan of the tree. New growth will be weakly-attached, the tree will be subject to storm damage, the tree will pose a safety hazard to people, vehicles, & buildings, the topping will open-up the tree to diseases and insects, and it will be expensive for you to maintain a tree that has been topped.
Timing between tree pruning depends on the growth rate of the tree. For example, a fast growing tree may need pruning done every 2-3 years, where as a slow-growing tree may only need pruning every 4-5 years.

We have a minimum service charge of $200.00 (work must add up to this amount) in order for us to come out to do work. In extreme cases, we are open to discussing a payment plan for payment of the tree work. We have done this in the past, without any problems.
Tree Cabling and Bracing
For tree cabling, we prefer the use of Static support systems. Static systems have a proven track record, they are stronger, & the materials last longer. Static systems involve installing steel cables between the major limbs of the tree in order to help reduce damage from high winds & heavy snowfall, as well as providing support for the tree.

Tree Mulching
A 2- to 3-inch-deep ring of mulch that extends to the drip line of a tree (the reach of the branches) is a great way to conserve moisture and suppress weeds that compete with tree roots for water and nutrients. Keep the depth of the mulch at 4 inches or less to avoid trapping too much moisture, which can kill roots.
Occasionally, we get calls from customers requesting us to come out and remove above-ground roots from existing trees. Trees that are causing a problem with lawn mowing or are damaging driveways/sidewalks. The roots of the tree anchor the tree to the ground, as well as providing some of the water and nutrients a tree needs to grow. In these instances, we recommend some other options. Turning the area surrounding the tree into a landscape (mulched) area, for one. Another would be to remove the tree, which may be necessary if the tree is doing more damage than good.
