Sakura Asian Restaurant

We have just tried Sakura for the first time today. We were very impressed. The Sushi was very fresh and well presented. The Hibachi dinners were also very fresh and well presented, and surprisingly ample for the price. The aptmosphere was tasteful and understated, like many Japanese restaurants we have tried in other cities. We have tried many restaurants in State College, and around the world and this ranks among our favorites. For State College, it is probably the best Japanese food and is reasonably priced. We took a take out menu so that we can plan future meals, which will occur often.

This restaurant is what I call "Chinese Japanese restaurant". All staff is Chinese. But for me, Japanese, it's most Japanese likely among this category around State College(incl. Altoona, Harisburg, Pittsburg). I tried Teriyaki beef lunch box. Miso soup is based of white miso, Shumai and California roll is good. Teriyaki beef is also. What I feel pity is they're using long rice for white rice. It would be better to use round type like Nishiki.
