We hired Jason Griffin of T.C. Contracting to coordinate several areas of our nine year old home that needed changes. We had a complete kitchen remodel and reconfiguration, with new Shaker-style cabinets, quartz countertops and tile backsplash. All new flooring and molding was installed for our dining room and living room, too, and new carpet was installed in three bedrooms.
Our old carpeted entry stairs, which originally had solid half-walls, were replaced with wrought iron, hardwood handrail and treads. This dramatically opened up our dark and outdated entry.
T.C. Contracting was able to give us upgraded materials for each of our projects for about the same price that we would have had to pay if we had attempted to do the projects ourselves. We especially like our laminate floors. Jason Griffin directed us to a product that is thicker with a more efficient locking system and a better underlayment than comparable products to be found at Home Depot.
The remodel, however, got off to a rough start and took much longer than originally anticipated. There were a few minor errors in measurements, and more than the usual amount of delays, and some miscommunication which often caused us frustration and disappointment. The original estimate of four weeks for the completion of the remodel was optimistic but unrealistic. The entire project took nearly three months and it went over our original budget, but the finished result was well-worth it.
One of the delays was caused by the lead carpenter, whose personal problems adversely affected his work, jeopardizing the reputation of T.C. Contracting. After firing the man, Mr. Griffin had to locate a replacement-crew. Two weeks later, the new crew (Marcus, Jake, and Jeff) picked up the slack and were excellent in every way. The men did a professional job with much attention to detail.
In the two years that T.C. Contracting has been in business, Jason Griffin has had to occasionally replace those crew members who were not up to his standards. One such employee had a personal vendetta against T.C. Contracting and wrote extremely negative reviews in an attempt to ruin Mr. Griffin’s business and reputation. When we read what that former-employee had written on Yelp, we were very concerned about the success of our own project, but we decided to give T.C. Contracting a chance. We’re glad we did (although the process often left me in tears of frustration!) Still, our home with its new flooring and the remodeled entry and kitchen is beautiful and of excellent quality. We love every detail of it and we know that with the superior materials that Jason Griffin obtained for us, our home will be enjoyed for years to come.

I started with Jason and TC Contracting over a year ago BEFORE all of the negative reviews started under this business name. I found them on Craigslist, credentials checked out. Jason was kind in showing me cabinets, countertops, & flooring knowing that I may not even choose to do business with them as I have a brother that can do the work—I just needed to know what my options were. Jason met me on time at different locations to show me several options of each. I explained I was on a strict budget. He showed me the least expensive ways to an end and yet still have a nice outcome.
We started with swapping out my wood burning fireplace for gas. I purchased the gas insert and it took several months for him to finally get the project completed but it did happen—before winter.
After waiting 2 months for cabinets, kitchen was demo’d. Drywall work & flooring were completed. I was left for a month with nothing but flooring and an old refrigerator. Then a sink. It did take several months of begging, pleading, then demanding, threatening and a LOT OF CRYING(UGLY CRYING!)to get the cabinets purchased and placed.
That’s where it all stopped. This is where all of these negative reviews started. It appears the business grew way too fast. Seems as though they were “robbing Peter to pay Paul”. My money was gone. A lot of money. I was told that an employee they hired was the start of their downfall. I WAS ALSO TOLD IF I WOULD JUST HOLD ON THEY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT. I was promised if I would be patient the company would make it right. THAT TIME IS NOW. I did not hire a lawyer(I had gone to the BBB but that got me NOWHERE). I simply(HA!)had to be patient, somewhat understanding and they would make it right. THEY ARE!! They gave me half of what I was owed back in cash and they are helping to complete the project now. THEY ARE MAKING IT RIGHT AND NEED A LITTLE FAITH AND UNDERSTANDING TO TURN THIS COMPANY AROUND. THEY WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING!
