Matthew came to my home for an estimate for a new deck. I was very pleased that he was very honest with me in informed me that the area that I wanted the deck was not a good choice because it would be exposed to excessive water which could cause rotting down the road. He could have just built what I requested knowing it was a bad idea but instead he was honest with me, and I am very grateful. Even though he didn't do any work for me, I would recommend him based on his expertise and professionalism.

Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the materials used and was very thorough during the install. Spent some extra time digging out some dryrot found during demolition of the old deck and didn't charge extra. price was in the 80% range of bids we received but, rather pay on the top end than get bad work.

I would never recommend Matt from MBA for a project. We hired 10 different subcontractors in the process of a remodel and this is the only one that I would not recommend. He did not show up when he said he would (and we had waited to do other work based on his recommendation of waiting for the deck to be installed first), started several weeks late and then would show up one day say when he would return and come back several days later. The work he showed us and how he told us he would do the project was very different then how it was done. He did not respond to telephone calls to fix issues with the deck (ones he had said he would come back and fix) even after repeated attempts. We were VERY unhappy with his service and work.

Built a wonderful deck for us and had insightful suggestions for us, but didn't push them on us. It was nice having the boss on-site and accessible all the time.
