I've been going to this particular Hair Cuttery for at least a couple of years. While I've had my hair cut by a few individuals here, Rachel has always come through, and is the best I've found in my six years in Virginia. I can highly recommend her services but call ahead and schedule an appointment. That's right, you need to make an appointment with a stylist at HC. No biggie though, you'll be happy you did.

Overall

I took my 4 year old grandso there today needless to say I'm on MAD grandmother. The girl Ashley that cut his hair looks like a freak and surly doesn't know how to cut hair... The way she started out made me believe she knew what she was doing. NOT!!!!! When she got to his bangs I told her one side was shorter pointed it out and she cut more off... Now the're a half inch long. I had to leave the store and allow my friend to watch I was so upset I could of buzzed it myself.Once I got. Him in the car I realized he had long pieces going down his face. When I went to pay I was only going to pay for the cut but with Ashley standing there I was to embarrassed not to leave a tip. A waste of $16.00. Hair cuttery you need to hire people that know how to cut hair just because they passed the boards doesn't mean crap. I can go pass them without taking the class ( only because I grew up in hair salons ) I can tell you I can color perm anything you want but don't ask me to cut your hair... It take talent Ashley you surly don't have that and you have a long way to go... I pay $50.00 to get my hair cut and if I had to do all over I would gone to Culpeper, I would of paid way more but I wouldn't be so upset at this moment.i could go on forever but no use. Don't take on cuts if you don't know what your doing should of been my tip to you Ashley...

The stylist damaged my daughter's hair

I took my 14 yr old daughter in for a trim and she wanted her tips dyed red just two days prior to the first day of school. I am very selective about who I allow to touch her hair. She is mixed, and therefore, not everyone knows how to deal with her hair. We went with a black stylist and explained what she wanted. My first clue that this wasn't going to turn out good should have been when I had to tell her to trim it first before coloring the ends so she wouldn't be cutting out the color. She left the bleach on my daughter's hair way longer than it should have been (between 30-45 min), taking other customers, checking in clients and answering the phone. Then, she applied the color. She also left it on about the same length of time while doing other things. I knew her ends were severly damaged after the blow dry. The ends with color were fried ! She tried to tell me it wasn't damaged, but I wasn't accepting it. We had to return the following day so the manager, Krystal, could work on it. She did a deep conditioning treatment and trimmed the ends. It looked so much better when we left. The manager is having her return for a complimentary deep conditioning treatment and trim in the future. Our family has had horrible experiences at all of the local Hair Cutteries, including myself, my daughter, my step sons and husband. After this last experience, I will only allow Krystal to touch my daughter's hair. She was very apologetic about it and worked a miracle on her hair so she wouldn't have to start her first day of school with a fried mess. The other stylist ( I forget her name) shouldn't be allowed to do anymore color until she gets some additional training.
