I was going to purchase the Groupon for the cut and color, but called first to see if they could work me in for the time I needed. They could and they told me not to buy the Groupon, said I could pay the stylist directly and they would honor the Groupon price. She said this keeps them from paying the commission to Groupon. I've owned a business and used Groupon, in effect this is stealing advertising from Groupon and goes against the contract they signed with Groupon.
When I arrived the lady in the chair beside me was upset about the color of her hair. She had asked for the red to be removed from her hair, but instead it was very red. They made her an appt to return at 8:00 the next morning to have her color corrected. After she left her stylist explained to another stylist that she knew what mistake she made. She put violet on her hair to try to balance the red. The other stylist said, "Yeah, violet is red and blue, you basically just doubled the red on hair". I should've gotten out of my chair and ran right then!
My stylist began discussing my needs. I have brown hair with grey roots. I was mostly concerned about my roots, and told her I definitely didn't want my hair to go any darker because the grey shows quicker when it's dark. She grabbed a color book and pointed to a golden brown color (#6G). The color was pretty on the sample, but I told her that I had always heard gold was bad choice for my hair and would make the roots brassy. She said it wouldn't and she would use half 6G, half 7G. Against my better judgement, I trusted her. While I was sitting, you could see the dye turning red on my head, after she rinsed it my roots were bright orange and the ends were very dark brown (so much for not wanting to go darker). When I asked her about it, she said it would blend after she dried it. She began drying and the orange roots stood out even more. I became very upset and she went to get another stylist. The stylist agreed that gold was not the the correct choice for my hair and told her she needed to put green tones in my hair to tone it down. So she started all over again. Once she rinsed my hair, I made her towel dry and left without letting her blow dry or style it. She, of course, still charged me the full Groupon price. The red is toned down, but shows up in bright light & sun. It is dark almost black. Very frustrating and I will not be back. I hope the other lady is satisfied with her correction when she went back the next morning!
