Avoid this practice at all costs. They are understaffed, poorly trained and incompetent. I recently waited 2 hours for my yearly checkup appointment and then another 30 days to get blood test results back. I tried to contact them numerous times to find out the delay. Finally through their web portal they replied that they had the results, 26 days later, and that my cholesterol was a little, high but that I could try a low fat diet and to call back in 3 months. A "low fat diet" ? Really? That's it? I was shocked to say the least.
They have a huge problem with communication and do not answer their phones and do not return phone calls. My husband had problems with his new RX from this practice and called immediately to find out what he should do. He left a message and waited for a return call that day. No one ever called him back, EVER!
We will not go back.

The customer service is horrible!! I've been going to this practice for four years. Now, my office the St. Lucie west office is great, but since they change over to HCA, this practice has gone down hill. I call to make an appointment and the customer service rep Wilma hung up on me. I call back to speak with her supervisor Angela and she was very condescending and rude. She started looking to see who I had insurance with, in which this had nothing to do with this situation. Let's not forget how hard it is to reach a person for a prescription refill.... I finally spoke with the administrative office Jill and Shannon and they just brush off. I'm going to start looking for a new doctor for my family.I have been going to this practice for 4 years and the customer service has just gone down....I did love the fact that they are a specialty clinic. Now, if it wasn't for my favorite 2 Doctors Hurst and Tobin, I probably would have left this year. I wouldn't recommend this practice now.

Sorry to say that after 16 years with the Heart and Family Institute I am not planning on going back. Looking for new physicians as of today. The service has been the worst in 15 years. My doctors were good and I will miss them.. However, they are all leaving the institute because of poor management. The staff is unhappy, the doctors as unhappy, and the patients are unhappy with the unprogressive policy changes that are in place today. I don't know what it takes to get through to the corporation, but they will soon be losing more than patients if these standards continue.

CAUTION!!!! An absolutely disgraceful and dishonest business! Try searching for names of an administrator or director. You will not find either. I wanted to contact them when I learned I was deceived after making an appointment for an EMG test. Arriving at my appointed time I was asked for insurance card and ID to verify the information they had on file. When I saw the Dr. Vazquez (nice woman), she asked her aid for the EMG test results and was told they did not schedule it for that day. It was to be rescheduled. After waiting about a week I called about the EMG and was told at that time that it could not be scheduled because the facility does not accept my insurance. A week later I was billed $433.00. If the facility did not accept my insurance then why did they take the information over the phone and ask for my insurance card and ID to verify the information when I arrived? Simply put; because my insurance did not pay enough, this facility duped me into arriving anyway and then billing me! It was deceptive and fraudulent. I will not pay them a dime and will take legal action against the administrators.

I called 772-335-9600 and after holding for a short time for an appointment a woman answered (I wish I had caught her name) asked if there was an appointment to fit me in today. The woman said that she did not have any appointments today but she had some Monday. I asked if there were walk-in hours and she said not today. I said ok, I will take a Monday appointment. She looked me up and said I had not had an appointment in the last two years. I said I have been actively seeing specialists that Dr. Kurecki referred me to at Heart & Family Health since then but had not seen my general doctor, Dr. Kurecki. She said she would have to transfer my call. Before I was clear to even know to who or why she was transferring me to I was transferred. The automatic message responded that I could expect to hold for one minute. It continued to say I could expect to hold for one minute for the next fifteen minutes (yes, that is accurate, I looked at my phone time when I was transferred). After fifteen minutes I hung up & called back the main number and am #9 in the queue. After holding for nine minutes I hung up, I was at queue five but lost interest in keeping this office as my doctor. I have referred numerous people to this office and have stuck with Heart & Family Health for MANY years. I don’t think I should be treated this way just because I have not seen a doctor in this department recently.. This is very poor and rude service. I have heard others complain recently as well; now I know there opinions were valid. I guess I need to find a new doctor.

I've been a patient for years and I really like my doctor. Sorry to say you can never get through to these people , the phone wait is unbelievable. I've been thinking of finding another doctor but haven't decided yet.

This practice was, at one time, very good. I believe they have gotten too big. It is impossible to reach a doctor or a nurse or an appointment scheduler. You get a message that says you are 17th or higher in a que so you sit on line for an hour and still may not talk to a real person when you finally get through...that's right, you get a voice mail to leave a message that is never returned. I am looking for a new practice...where you are treated like a patient and not an incionvenient number. I don't recommend this practice. I do like Dr Diaz, family practice, and Dr. Dennis, urologist...but you can' t reach them either...it's not their fault....it's the ridiculous phone service the corporation has installed. Go somewhere else if you want treatment and communication.

Impossible to communicate with. My doctor and his staff were very good, but you cannot call them on the phone and get to your doctor. They expect you to wait 72 hours if you leave a message-totally unacceptable. If you send a message thru the Patient Portal, you may or may not get a response. I don't recommed

I have been going to Heart & Family Health for the past seven years. In that time, I have had a lot of contact with the staff and have found kindness and courtesy at every visit. I have also had the same doctor the entire time. People need to remember that the staff is there to help a lot of patients every single day and that patience is the key!

Incompetence

My daughter went for UTI, they took a urine sample and lost it, never gave a simple antibiotic Rx and, as a result, she had to be hospitalized

Dr Talati is rude, has no compassion and if I were suffering the tortures of the damned and he was the only Dr left in the world I would just wait to die at home in my bed. I do not recommend anyone go to him ever for any reason.

Not a good experience. Phone ...

Not a good experience. Phone calls are often not answered, and are rarely returned. Doctors are condescending. The doctor I saw was already gone before I could make a follow up. Apparantly, this happens alot. If this place can't keep doctors, there is obviously a problem with management. Even the employees complain about this place. There are plenty of other places in town to see a doctor, avoid this place.

Avoid! The doctors are pompous...

Avoid! The doctors are pompous, and treat you like you're too stupid to understand what's going on. There is a high rate of turnover among the doctors, which makes you wonder why they keep leaving this place. Management is a significant problelm here.
