I am from Chi town and miss a good tamale - Pass by this dump the other day and said ok Chicago places did not have great curb appeal but killer tamales. I ordered the pork tamale plate took one bite and spit it out HORRIBLE..... way to much mesa dough no flavor in the pork rice tasted like wallpaper paste. Thank goodness I know to make my own tamales and mine actually have alot of meat and little mesa dough.and I am not mexican and mine a better than this crap. SHAME ON THEM ..... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I left the plate on table finished my beer and left.... Just nasty

Do NOT stop here! Take the hint when you see there aren't many cars in the parking lot. The two other reviewers on this site are either insane or employees.

Our experience: We ordered our food at the counter from a grim-faced, non-Mexican woman and took our seats at a nice little booth. But we quickly realized that we had no receipt and no clear idea how we would obtain our food. Bill returned to the counter, where Mrs. Grim informed him that our food would be delivered to our table. Five minutes later, she appeared at the table and told him he could instead pick up our food back at the counter. Well, okay. He and Andy went to the counter and returned to our table with the 4 plates of food that had been waiting there for us.

Both Elizabeth and I had ordered a single taco each, yet we received three, and mine was chicken and not beef. But we said to ourselves, oh well, what the heck, maybe when you ask for one you get three, and chicken isn't bad. We won't make a fuss. So I (against my better judgment) took mine to the open-air, unsanitary salsa bar and loaded up with veggies and salsa. By the time I returned to the table, my lone beef taco had been delivered to the table. Oh, okay. I set the other tacos to one side, scraped off the veggies and salsa, and proceeded to eat. Mrs. Harpy from Hell then appeared and accused us with "Did you order that food?!?" We hemmed and hawed, feeling like criminals, and she whisked away the offending, half-eaten plates--no doubt to serve them to someone else.

If the food had been decent, we might not have minded the abuse. But Bill's chile relleno was bland and oozing with what tasted like Velveeta. My taco fell apart. The infinitesimal side of guacamole tasted so old I dared not eat much of it.

Later, when I googled the place, it popped up amid Florida state food establishment inspection violations. We're lucky, I guess, to have survived.
