We recently bought our little Cocker Spaniel from here and love him to pieces! He is in great health, smart, and well adjusted. After reading about the breeders/shelters/storefront debates, I just say to each his/her own. My only conviction is that if a dog is alive, he needs a family to be taken care regardless of where one gets it, period. I've adopted from shelters, rescued from streets, and bought from pet stores and I do not regret any decision I have made. Happiness Is Pets was a good decision for us- because got our puppy there who is the perfect fit for our family.

If you have bought a sick or dying dog from this store, please visit www.caps-web.org and fill out a pet store complaint form. There is a class action lawsuit pending for selling sick and dying dogs. The dogs come from puppy mills. Google Steve Kruse, Levi Graber, Laverne Whetstone, or go in and get the breeders name and google it. Disgusting and inhumane.

I bought a yorkie from happiness is pets in Orland 14 years ago. He passed away New Year's Day 2013. I have yet to get another dog because spike was the best dog I ever had. Kim I don't even know what your talking about.... A dog is a dog no matter where they are from whether its a shelter ( those living conditions are disgusting may i add) a private breeder or a pet store. Are you saying the cages at a shelter are better?! Maybe if shelters didnt make people go through all the stuff they do like background checks and all the questions and references on top of showing so much proof your a decent human being people would be more inclined to go to a shelter. I get checking in to make sure a person is a decent human being because there are some sick people out there but come on! Are you saying a dog in a shelter deserves my love more than one from a store? A dog could have health problems no matter where he or she is from. My dog I purchased from happiness is pets was amazing and a healthy baby until the day he passed away he acted like a puppy. I am forever grateful to happiness is pets for allowing me to have an amazing dog and friend for 13 years.

Overall
a wonderful business run by a wonderful family

I have purchased 2 dogs from Happiness is pets, and 5 years later they are still thriving. I love them and have had no problems with them at all. I knew the family who owns the stores a while back and to be honest they are an amazing family. I saw the time and effort put into the business and I dont believe for a second that they would purchase puppies at a mill. Nor do I believe they would ever harm a puppy by giving it medicine it does not need. I personally on more then one occasion was with one of Mr. Bernings sons when he drove in a bad snow to get to the store to make sure the puppies were out for excersise and fed on time, because the store was closed. you have to consider the fact that puppies in a store, shelter, or anywhere else may get sick sometimes.... just like if your child is in day care... it just happens. I think that if you are going to buy a puppy and it bites you, as i read in another review... and you return it, maybe you should not be alowed to be a pet owner. Puppies like children get sick, moody, sometimes they want to be left alone and sometimes they want to be loved. They are animals for god sake.... they require attention and love and disaplin and reward. Ron Berning in my opinion on a personal level, and business level is a wonderful wonderful man... he has raised an amazing family and runs a great business and should not be put down by anyone who obviously is uninfored. Now remember this is coming from an ex of one of his sons.... and no it did not end well.

Great Reviews on Happiness Is Pets!

I bought a dog whos 2 years old now and he is a great boy and we got recommened it by my Brother's girlfriend Liz they bought there Jack Russel Terrier from this place and we bought a Maltese named Toby from the place. We still have the dogs till this day. They are great dogs and we love them both a lot. Its a great place to go and look at the dogs. I would recemmend this place to people who is looking to buy a dog. Our dog Toby was unregistered and he cost less than the normal ones cost.
