Darvin and his son, David, opened their first store in the early 1940s. Overall

Don't shop at Darvin's if you expect the furniture you purchase to last longer than 36 months.
The bonded leather sofa I purchased peeled so badly, I felt the need to post a warning.

Wish I could give them 0 stars.



I bought a sectional sofa set. It took 4 months to get it, and we had nothing but trouble with it. And it is falling apart, I purchased the "Extended" Warranty and kept getting directed back and forth trying to get my set repaired. Then Darvin said that my warranty expired and they wouldn't do anything. They started the so-called warranty from the purchase date, not the date I received it 4 months later.

We ordered a glider / recliner on Dec 26 and still have not received it. Today is April 10.

Every time we call the story changes. We were told it was waiting for more orders before it would be shipped out so the truck was full, then the next time we called we were told they were waiting for the swivel! How could it be ready and then 2 weeks later they are waiting for a part.

Someone needs to investigate this place. I have no idea how they stay in business. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW MY EXPERIENCE.

over 12 weeks and I still don't have my furniture!

I ordered my couches on Black Friday, was told it would be 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks I hadn't heard from Darvin so I called. They claimed there was a fabric shortage and it would take 4 more weeks. My guess, my furniture was never ordered. I was told 4 more weeks, we are now on week 5 and I still don't have my furniture. I can't get any answers when I call. It seems like no one knows where my couches are. So frustrating! Terrible service and dishonest management.

Horrible Customer Service

We ordered our couches almost three months ago in July, and when they came in August they were the wrong color and one piece arrived broken. It has been several weeks since then and the situation has still not been corrected. The sales people couldn't care less about customer satisfaction and the merchandise is of poor quality. We will never buy from Darvin again!

I bought my couch from Darvin in Orland about two years ago.; it was my first time in DARVIN. I needed a firm couch for my back that would not break the budget. I changed my mind three times because I kept finding something firmer. I even ordered one with the steel pillow upgrade and changed my mind about that! All through it, they were great and patient. Tom Jacobson, Luke the manager: fabulous. It was delivered promptly and is very comfortable. I am a satisfied cutstomer and will go back if I ever need another piece of furniture!

I recently purchased a sofa and dining room table from Darvin. I was really impressed with the selection and pricing of the furniture. Our sales associate sold us the furniture and convinced us to purchase the "ultra shield" warranty with the furniture. It was sold under the pretense that if ANYTHING happens to the furniture and they cannot fix it, it will be replaced. AFTER you purchase the warranty, you get a little kit with the fine print. When I received our sofa, I quickly realized that you could see the staples coming out from the top and the sofa would not stay together. When I called the warranty, "it was not covered." SERIOUSLY? They said that in the fine print in the box, that you get AFTER YOU PURCHASE THE WARRANTY, manufactures's defects are not covered and Darvin is not responsible. If you call Darvin about any issues, the sales associates are rude and speak to you as if you are bothering them.



Bottom line, warranty stinks and they do not stand by their products. Customer service is rude. Don't waste your time.

The customer service at this location is not the best. When I came in the sales person acted like I was wasting her time, little did she know appearances can be deceiving. I purchased a living room couch and dining table set, they both broke within the first year of having them. When I called them to ask if they could repair it they were extremely rude and stated I would be charged for all the repairs and repair time. All in all, the furniture is overpriced, flimsy, not worth the money! BEWARE! I closed my account with them and will not recommend them to anyone.

first time to Darvin. Drove 50 miles to get a price quote since they wont do it over the phone. For stating they have 80 sales people on the floor, some basic customer service with some actual help would improve their scores. I was directed to the klausner area for the item I was looking for, did not see it on the floor and the first sales person really didnt have any other suggestions. I then asked if they have any catelogs which he then gave me to find the item and walked away. Another sales person "came up" from 15 yards away and casually yelled "let me know when you need somethig or find it". I was surprised to say the least. When I told her what I was looking for, she asked if it had the item number, which I did at home, but not with me. She seemed a little aggravated by this, but I told her it was on their website.She then directed me to the computer "let me know when you find it" and then directed me to print it out. I felt I was at a sefl service warehouse. She then told me to pick out fabric so "we could order it". Look, I was just there to get a price quote, not actually order that day. I left the store feeling not valued for sure for walking through those doors, especially after working a long day at the hospital, driving 50 miles each way, only to get a quote highter than some local stores around home. It is a big chunk of change for the item I am planning on buying, but I will stick with the local stores which actually gave me great service when I walked through their doors! Sorry Darvin. Very disappointed.

I thought I was getting great service, had a wonderful saleswoman who showed me the perfect bed. We ordered the bed and put a deposit down. We were not ready to have the bed shipped until we closed on our new home (no sense in getting free delivery to our old address). The house fell through and we finally closed about 8 months later on something else, so now was the time to pay off the bed and have it delivered.



Everything was going great, until they delivered the bed. The guys came in and did not even remove their shoes after they were walking through snow. Got snow all over the carpet and when they left one of their shoe booties fell out of their pocket!! So not only did they not remove their shoes, they had covers for them in their pockets they didnt even use!



Doesnt stop there, they had me sign for the bed which seemed to be fine, however the two pillows promised by my saleswoman were not there. When I asked they said there would be a follow up call to ask about the issue. There was, and on the other end of the line was the manager I believe was named Al Nemic who said there was not a pillow special going on and hadn't been one in over 2 years. I politely explained that whether or not there was a "special" was not the issue, I was PROMISED 2 memory foam pillows to match the mattress we just purchased. I spend almost $2,000 dollars and paid "list price" or what was on the tag (there was no "sale" tag). When I was explaining that to him he interrupted me and quickly said "that isnt list price, none of our prices are list price", again not the point, I came in and paid asking price for the item. I again told him exactly what the woman had told me and his response stayed the same. At this point I am frustrated and repeated that it was not my problem that there was not a special going on that it was promised by my saleswoman. I then told him that I would do my business elsewhere if he did not give me what was promised..... HE THEN SAID "OK" AND HUNG UP THE PHONE!!!!! I COULDNT BELIEVE THAT A MANAGER COULD BE SO INCONSIDERATE!! WHO DOES THAT? I WORKED IN SALES AND I WOULD NEVER TREAT ANYBODY THAT WAY.



AFTER THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE.



What they did not realize was that I had a brand new house to furnish and probably would have spend thousands more with them. After the conversation I went down the street to ASHLEY FURNITURE and purchased an entire room package.



GOOD ONE DARVIN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I brought a mattress from here and it is very comfortable and I didn't spend a lot on it. I didn't have the bad experience some customers had but I went to the clearance center not the main store so it didn't take long to deliver. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because the delivery charge is a bit steep and I felt like the mattress should've came with a frame

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! They do not back their products and do not care about customer satisfaction. They are unwilling to exchange an used product after 7 days and before 7 days they charge a 20% fee!! Read their fine print or better yet don't go there.

This place is a joke! We ordered a sectional and custom fireplace on January 1st. They finally deliver my furniture on March 18th. In the process of bringing in my sectional they shattered a picture, gouged, scratched and dented our walls and trim and tore the sectional. Then they bring in my custom fireplace which we waited 2 months for. It was the wrong fireplace. When we sat down with the manager we received no apology and only offered to give us $100 off the price of this sectional. I will never shop Darvin Furniture again! Absolutely horrible experience.

I order a living room set and tables separate. Trouble started right away, The delivery guy did not want to try and get the furniture through the door. It is a normal size door. He was rude. Then I noticed nics and scratches on the furniture. this is probably why he did not want to bring it in he probably saw the scratches in the daylight and did not want to get blamed. They came and touched up it up. Then I had to call them out because something was wrong with me couches. After about six month of cleaning my beautiful Pennsylvania furniture I noticed that there were a lot of marks on it. I finally realized that they must have given me the floor samples and put in filler or whatever to make it look good, I don't have small children there is noway we did this. They ripped us off. I have to give a star because this site requires on. It deserves 0! Go somewhere else, You will thank me!

We placed an order in December. It is currently the middle of April and have not gotten full order. Every time I called to check on order, they said they would call me in two weeks with an update. No one ever called. I consistently had to call them. When I asked to speak to a manager, they put someone on the phone, but when I called back to reach the same person, no one ever knew who it was. The customer service reps were not rude, but certainly didn't care about my issue and certainly didn't help me resolve the problem at all. They gave me a refund on my shipping - $65 - which for four months of having to call them over and over again was not nearly the compensation I feel I should have gotten. Basically it appear that once you place your order this company is completely disorganized, has no system for managing complaints or delivery issues, and is not authorized to properly accommodate customers who have been "wronged". They spent a lot of time blaming it on the manufacturer, so I finally asked them to give me the number there and I will call them directly - which of course they would not do because it wasn't about the manufacturer - they gave a piece of my order to another customer and then didn't have enough orders from that company to get another one shipped immediately. So I have to wait FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy furniture from here again.

Worst place ever. Yes they have a lot of furniture in the store and yes they have a lot of variety in the store, but the sales reps are awful they would not help us and when I finally got an associate to talk to I asked if they had a scratch and dent section and she said it is closed until Friday. I drove an hour and a half to get to this wonderful store to find nothing!!Each piece is sold separately, they do not give you a reduced price for buying a set. There furniture was as bad as Value City furniture.
