It is hard to know how to start telling you how wonderfully gifted this man is to his profession. Dr. Asaf has been my vet for the past 24 years. I've been around awhile and have had many dogs in my lifetime. I knew right in the beginning that he is very attuned to animals and a very good diagnostician. As a nurse, I have been around a great deal of doctors, and see them work. Dr. A. goes right to work, often paying no attention to me - and that's ok! I am not there to make small talk. I am there to get my dog well. Over the years I have learned that his experienced touch is all that is needed to relax my dog(s) - not sweet talk. He has saved the life of one of my English cocker spaniels a number of times. He has made house calls, even coming to my house when my heart dog passed away. I've taken my four dogs to him over the years and would never consider changing.

Dr. Asaf is a brilliant internist and a phenomenal diagnostician.

Our family has been with Dr. Asaf for over 20 years now. If it were not for his expertise and efforts, our Siamese cat would have passed away at the age of 3. Dr. Asaf has saved our cat's life several times and he lived to be 19 1/2 years old.

Dr. Asaf has been treating all of our pets: cats, dogs, rabbits, and they all thrive under his care. It seems that Dr. Asaf has the Midas touch, but in medical sence, because all of our furry companions live very long and healthy lives.

I know that I am an overbearing pet owner and I know I ask a lot of questions, and yet both Dr. Asaf and Maureen, have gone above and beyond their call of duty to accommodate our needs, wishes, etc. More than anything, these two people are very kind and warm human beings.

I first went to Dr. Asaf for the convenience, as it is very close to were we live. I found Dr. Asaf A Qadeer, THE most impersonal Veterinarian that I have ever been in contact with, and I have been around quite a few in my 40 years. He has not bed side manners, with the animals he is supposed to care for, or courtesy to simply introduce himself or at least say hi. If you want your pet to be treated kindly and with respect, I strongly suggest you take it elsewhere. This is the first time, I ever write a review, and I'm sorry it has to be a negative one.

In addition and contrary to whatever his Website, Yellow Pages, or Manta Report says, the Orange office is 1 of 2, his other office is in Irvine. He also only has 1 staff member, so it is very difficult to get a hold of someone.

The last thing I would share with you, is my last conversation with Dr. Asaf A Qadeer; when I told him about his lack of communication, he told me to feel free to take my puppy elsewhere. That was the best piece of advise, he could have ever given me. I am glad to follow it, and I urge you to do the same.

Our Horrible Experience Will NEVER go back

Took our 8 month old puppy to the hospital, regular vet was closed. We told Dr Asaf that our puppy was limping and crying alot.He would have to run x-rays (which I expected) He told us she had a broken toe, and that he had to sedate her while taking x-rays.

Dr Asaf said because our puppy was sedated she would have to stay over night to be monitored. Dr Asaf said this was normal. When I questioned it ( we had never had any of our dogs in the past 35 years stay over night after sedation for x-rays or teeth cleaning.) he said I would have to sign a form releasing him from any liability if she had any problems comming out of sedation, if I took her home.

I found that strange., but left her there seeing that he was so concerned.. He did not at any time give her any pain medication

. Dr Asaf told me I could pay 1/2 of the bill now and the rest in 2 monthly payments. We picked our puppy up the next day and found out she was alone all night at the hospital.....NO ONE WAS THERE WITH HER. At least at home my family and I would have been with her. They only wanted more money with keeping her overnight. The total charge for x-rays 2 views and over night stay was $266.00. God forbid if anything would have happened to her she was left alone........

. She was still limping and crying still in so much pain. I called our regular vet to get a second opinion. They told me to bring the x-rays that Dr Asaf had taken. I called Riverdale animal hospital, was told to come down and pick them up by the receptionist Maureen. When I got there Maureen told me if I wanted the x-rays, I would have to pay my bill in full. I toldMaureen ( who was in the room with us, when Dr. Asaf and I talked about payment plans ) That I was set up on a plan. She was extreamly rude said "We have no record of that." I said you were standing right there. Maureen kept saying " you did'nt talk to me". She kept arguing with me for over 45 min.Never had I run into someone who was so nice the day before and this rude 2 days later. So I said well at least give me the paper work from my visit, so I can show our vet Dr. Horn what was done.Maureen then said "oh we have no paperwork for your visit." She said " nothing was written down in the chart." I told her to call Dr Asaf I wanted to talk to him. When she came back in the room she said"you are going to have to sign a promissary note saying you will be making payments." At this point I had been there over 45min and was late for my vets appointment. I signed the note got the x-ray and left.

My vet Dr Horn and another vet at the practice looked at the x-rays over and over, even took 2 more x-rays of their own, and said" We can not find a broken toe on either of her 2 front paws!! Had never heard of the practice of having to keep a dog over night after sedation for x-rays either"

She was in a growing spurt and her growth plates were the problem and giving her the pain. Dr Horn gave her a shot of Rymadal, and sent her home with pills to take also.

Our puppy was a different dog by that night. I could hardley believe my eyes. To be so off with a diagnoses for my puppy was just not exceptable...... All Dr Asaf wanted was my money, that's it. Dr Asaf did'nt even give her anything for pain which she clearly was in. My regular vet was so dumbfounded by my whole experience with Dr Asaf and his practice.

When I called Dr Asaf office to tell then I should'nt have been charged for our puppy staying the night, all I got was you signed the promsisory note and we expect payment or will start a collections process. I will NEVER EVER go back to Dr Asaf, no matter where he is. My puppy and bank account suffered because of Dr Asaf incomptance. The receptionist ( Maureen ) was the Ruddest person I had ever incountered in my life. When choosing a vet for your pet Don't let what happened to me and my puppy happen to you and your pet,CHOOSE ANOTHER VET !!!

For the love of dogs

Dr. Asaf, Maureen and staff are amazing! I have been going to Dr. Asaf for YEARS. His new location is clean, roomy and inviting. They will give your animal the most up to date treatment with love and care. Dr. Asaf has been nothing short of absolutely amazing at diagnosing my many animals' health issues. I have had dogs diagnosed with some of the rarest diseases, that if they had not been diagnosed, would have killed them. He is upfront and honest about what he feels is the best avenue of treatment for your animal and what to expect. I have had other expert vets commend me on my vet's exceptional care. I currently have a rescued bulldog that would not be around today if it wasn't for Dr Asaf and staff's VERY accurate and cautious care. He literally was up every couple of hours to check on my bully after his knee surgery. As long as I have animals, I will be living in an area close to Dr. Asaf and Maureen! No disrespect, but I have found his treatment of even my emergency visits to have better results than the renouned Advanced Critical Care Center. Dr Asaf and Staff are 100% committed to the care and treatment of YOUR animals. I can't tell you how lucky I was to have found him 7 1/2 yrs ago after moving into the area, the Saturday afternoon before Christmas. Literally in a panic, my 9 month old dobie puppy was not acting normal and bleeding. 3 other vet offices confirmed it sounded like an emergency, but they were closing, sorry! They didn't even have the common courtesy to give me an emergency referral! THEN I found Dr. Asaf in the yellow pages. Maureen answered the phone as they were closing and told me to get right in, the Dr. said it sounded like immediate care was needed. Boy was he right. A large infected uterus was removed and saved her life. She was lucky she didn't die. From that point on my Dobie LOVED going to visit the vet. Maureen even did special tricks with her! They truly care for your pet. I know, because my dobie girl passed away and to this day we all get teary eyed talking about her!
