Bill's Floor Installation Service

I agreed to Bill Leatherwood's bid which was was quite higher than the going rate to install vinyl flooring because he claimed to have over 30 years experience in this field



He arrived as planned, but had no helper, so I had to help him move to vinyl to the kitchen after it was cut. He later burned a 3" X 2" spot in my hall carpet with his undercut saw cutting the bathroom doorjamb. When he was finished I inspected his work for fit ( cutting around water pipes, drain pipes. doorjambs etc. & would rate it 8 out of 10.



I paid Mr. Leatherwood & went back later that day to install the quarter round trim. I noticed the vinyl flooring seams were still in two pieces not sealed together. I assumed he had forgotten them so I called Mr. Leatherwood. He said he was gong to seal them but the sealer adhesive he had had dried up & since the seam would be under the stove not to worry about it. ( very professional )



I insisted I wanted him to finish the job, he reluctantly offered to seal the seams if I paid for the seam sealant ( $ 20.00 ) which he claims is a standard extra fee for vinyl installations, which is absolutely ridiculous.



All the past flooring jobs I've had done the seams are included in the price. If that is his policy he should have expressed that before we agreed on the price that I assumed was a total job & included finished seams.



This guy is dishonest & I believe anyone who hires him will end up very unsatisfied like me.
