Persistent. Invasive. Relentless. When you see ants in your home, it’s a cause for immediate concern. These pests are determined — if you see one, you could be dealing with hundreds or even thousands. The two most popular ants in Massachusetts, carpenter ants and pavement ants, can live in your home year-round.
Spiders
In addition, our “ULTIMATE PLAN” covers a number of common pests: ants, spiders, centipedes, earwigs, etc. As an added bonus, we will install termite monitoring stakes discretely around the foundation of your home. Throughout the season, your technician will inspect these stakes and will notify you if any termite activity is detected. Wildlife
At Ford’s Hometown Services, we tailor squirrel, bird, bat, and other wildlife exclusion programs to meet your specific needs. We always use the latest and most effective and humane removal methods—techniques that work for your home or office building over the long-term. Our process focuses on three key steps...
Beetle larvae, also known as grubs, feed on roots. One major sign of grub activity is that the grass will be easy to pull up, like a carpet off the hard wood floor, due to the diminishing of the root system of your lawn. The damage is typically found in sunny areas, as grubs will not typically be present in the shade. Also, foraging animals that feed on grubs (such as skunks and crows) will dig up the lawn, providing you with solid evidence of grub activity. However, the only way to be sure is to actually check beneath the thatch layer for small white larva. 2-4 larvae per square foot are expected and will not damage the lawn. Any more then 5-6 larvae per square feet should be treated immediately.
Large communities of insects, rodents and wildlife live outside your home. Our pest control services will protect your structure with the most modern and effective methods of pest management.
Mice
Mice exterminators such as the rodent control experts at Ford’s offer a number of effective mice control, mice exclusion, and mice extermination products and techniques to fit the size and scope of any mouse infestation. In fact, mice control and mice management are service specialties here at Ford’s.
Rats
Rats are often found in and around farms, gardens, open fields, and even homes and other buildings. If you observe rats in your garden, yard, or other landscaping, it’s very likely that they will soon invade your home. Rats are an incredibly invasive species and can be very destructive, so if you suspect rats on your property, don’t delay.
Squirrels
Removing gray and flying squirrels, skunks, and other wildlife from home or office only solves part of the problem. It’s essential to address how the animals are getting in, so you don’t have to deal with the issue again in the future. Plus, certain types of wildlife are protected and require specialized knowledge and proven processes to remove them safely and humanely. Our trained technicians are State certified with Problem Animal Control (PAC) licenses, OSHA fall protection certified, licensed for hydraulic lifts (if needed), trained in ladder safety and are Nationally accredited with the Quality Pro accreditation. We have been a trusted resource for wildlife trapping work for families and businesses across Massachusetts for over 80 Years (our 5 star Google reviews speak volumes). You can trust our team to remove intrusive animals and implement a plan to remedy access issues so your property stays protected long-term.
Voles
Voles are commonly known as “meadow mice” or “field mice” and will feed on the trunks and roots of various fruit trees and ornamental plants as well as flower bulbs. Their excellent tunneling ability allows them to go undetected and the presence of voles is usually discovered after they have destroyed a number of plants.
