Child Support

Child Custody and Visitation

In either situation, whether adoption is due to the birth parents abandoning the child or by agreement because it is best for the child, I will represent you throughout the adoption process.
Paternity
If both you and the mother agree on establishing paternity for your child, you two will need to fill out a â€œVoluntary Acknowledgement of Paternityâ€ form. As your attorney, I can help you obtain and fill out this form. It will then need to be filed at Tennesseeâ€™s Office of Vital Records. Once the form has been processed, the courts will then add your name to the childâ€™s birth certificate, making you the childâ€™s biological and legal father. While this process might seem straightforward, you will benefit from having a paternity attorney diligently walk you through the steps and make the whole process easier for you.
