Metal Man Restoration

Metal Man did a fabulous job restoring my antique fireplace tool set. This brass-plated set was worn and partly rusted. Now, it look like new, fully restored and I am proud to display this family heirloom in my home. The price was very reasonable too and customer service was great. I highly recommend Metal Man.

Outstanding skill at polishing and lacquering my eleven pieces of important brass items - to museum quality. Rare to find such professionalism and pride in work these days. And all at reasonable and fair pricing - at the same time delivering all with an exceptional level of kindness and interest. Recommend without any reservations. Kudos to Anthony and his staff.

When someone does exceptional workmanship I am compelled to applaud them. In the summer I bought reclaimed nautical copper and brass pendant lights to illuminate the island in our new kitchen. I was ecstatic that I found them but did know they would need a little love. As I evaluated the pendants it was apparent they needed an artisan's touch.

My search brought me to Anthony Guglielmo, President of Metal Man Restoration in Mount Vernon, New York.
I picked the two pendant lamps up yesterday and can not believe how beautiful they are.

Metal Man does it all from a small residential job like mine to restoring plaques at Babe Ruth Plaza and Lou Gehrig Plaza at Yankee Stadium.

We own a brownstone in Brooklyn and have very old brass door pulls, which needed to be cleaned and polished. Daisy, the office manager, was exceedingly helpful and pleasant and Anthony and his staff turned our brass door pulls around in record time and in prestine condition. In fact, they look brand new. We would not hesitate to recommend this firm to anyone needing high quality work.

I recently had a rare 19th century brass table restored at Metal Man. The table had not been cleaned or polished in over 140 years. Over the next four months Anthony and his staff disassembled the table and completely restored and polished all of the many pieces to their original condition. The finished result was spectacular, and the table is now destined for a museum collection.



The staff was courteous and wonderful to deal with, and the price was very reasonable considering the amount of time and labor involved.



I cannot recommend them highly enough for the restoration of antique metalwork.

Being an interior designer in NYC for the past 10 years we have used metal man for all of our plating, finishing and metal restoration work.



They have performed amazing work on light fixtures/door hardware/plumbing fixtures (changing fixtures from brass to either chrome or nickel finishes).



We just finished up some beautiful Victorian radiators for a show house which is being featured in Architectural Digest.



The staff is extremely professional and Anthony is on top of all the projects.



They do experience some delays (since they are always so busy) but always pull through with A+ service and the final results.



I have worked with of metal refinishing companies but none like Metal Man Restoration and with all the services they provide.

We had a favorite pair of outside lamps that were damaged by Super storm Sandy. We asked several lighting stores if the lamps could be fixed to wich we received a resounding no. We came to Metal Man and we were advised the lamps could be fixed! The work was excellent!

Anthony gave new life to 4 over 100 year old radiators. They came back to me in beautiful condition, exactly as I had requested. Anthony was very communicative and easy to work with. I highly recommend this company for restoration of radiators, whatever their condition.

Anthony worked with me to restore a table which had the irreplaceable cast legs broken in a move. He helped me select some replacements and then made the new legs a near perfect match for the table with plating and "distressed" painting; not an easy job. Price was very fair. I would certainly engage him again.

I gave Metal Man Restoration my very valuable handmade hammered copper one-of-a-kind dining table to restore. I had tried polishing it and the more i polished it the worse it got. Every one of the countless thousands of "holes" in the hammered surface were full of clogged polish that wouldn't come out, and candle wax that had dripped. Nothing would restore it. Plus it was totally tarnished because i could no longer polish it!

Metal Man took it, cleaned it with a torch, restored it perfectly --without one tiny bit of damage i might add--and then lacquered it so that it never has to be polished again.

Anthony, with whom I dealt was just terrific, sending me photos of progress and keeping me informed. When we unveiled it last night (they had wrapped it in literally a pound of paper and plastic to protect it), we were jumping around the room with glee! Thank you Metal Man. You guys are artists. Horrible customer service! Took my car parts in to get chromed. It took them 2 months to tell me they don't want to do car parts anymore and returned my parts to me. I called them every week, they told me the parts we not ready and thanks for being patient.
