Mission Hospital Weight Management

My sister was taken to Mission Hospital when she got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The CHOC center and the employees at Mission Hospital not only took exceptional care of my sister but they also took care of myself and my parents. I felt like we were a part of the Mission Hospital family and I know from my friends that they feel the same thing when they walk through the doors into the hospital. It is a place that takes pride in their work and they are truly there to take care of their patients.

My personal background: Administrator of a 1,000-bed hospital. It appears that this hospital has given the staff directions that they are to turn over patients as quick as possible. Get the patient OUT should be their written mission statement. On the other hand, maybe their mission statement is; "Wait in E.R. for 6 to 10 hours and see if the patient goes home out of frustration or dies while they are waiting for care.

I do not know what their trauma center is like and I have a feeling that it may be good, but for the rest of the hospital, my recrimination is that you are better off staying home.

The nursing staff has something like three patients per nurse and they should be able to have six patients and still do a good job. Here the nurse has three and she cannot manage to handle care for them in an adequate manner. The nurses spend more time on the computer entering data than they do with the patient. This is possibly the worst run hospital I have ever seen.

The parking at this place takes forever it is so bad and then they have the nerve to charge you $4.00 for taking an hour of your life to find parking and shuttle to your doctors appointment. None of the doctors validate - I won't go near this place. It's just wrong.
