La Mela's Sanitation Svce Inc.

I wish I could give my experience with LA Mela garbage truck a huge Zero with Capital Letters. We all have jobs where we are expected to be polite, respectful, and provide A + servie on a regular basis. The public expects this service on a regular basis. Today I was driving my small Honda near St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie and needed to make a left turn. Yes, I had my signal on and was going slow. A big Mela garbage truck with a very "rude" driver could easily see that he cut his turn very close to my small car. What did he do? He did absolutely nothing! I was trying to back up slowly to avoid damage to any other vehices on the street as well as the garbage truck. He did not attempt to help me or even apologize. Yes, he did yell and make nasty faces when I started to copy down the name of his company. Yes, he did manage to move his truck once I started writing down the name on his truck. I called the La Mela Service and asked to speak with the owner. I was told he was on the phone. No, I haven't heard back. What is wrong with people? I wouldn't want this company picking up my garbage after the way I was treated. It reflects on the establishment. I will notify the Poughkeepsie Chamber of Commerce so they can be aware of how I was treated on the road!!! This incident needs to be taken very seriously by the owner, as well as present and future customers.
