Dental Examination
I have the utmost respect for both the Dentists and the staff at Lodi Valley Dental. I have had some extensive dental work done by Dr. Crane, and it has all been first class. At my most recent hygiene appointment, with Tricia, my hygienist, Dr. Crane had an emergency to deal with, and he could not perform my dental exam. I thoroughly support his compassion for his patients, and I know I would certainly have appreciated his attention if I had been the patient needing the urgent attention. Dr. Dow stepped in for him during my appointment, which gave me the opportunity to meet him. I found his demeanor and his patient concern to be on par with Dr. Crane’s. So, I know he will be a good fit for the practice, and his patients will be in excellent hands. Whenever I go for treatment at Lodi Valley Dental, I have the utmost confidence that I will receive the care I need, from caring, skillful dentists and staff.

X-rays
There is very little risk in dental X-rays. We are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which are patients are exposed. Lead aprons and digital X-ray sensors are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation.
Oral Cancer Screening
During an oral cancer screening, your dentist will carefully examine the inside of your mouth and tongue for flat, painless, white or red spots or small sores. Although most of the time these are harmless, some are not. While harmful oral spots or sores often look identical to benign spots, testing can tell them apart.

Teeth Cleaning
An efficient oral hygiene routine is a very important part of the treatment and prophylaxis of dental disease and decay, as well as of maintaining good overall health. Poor oral hygiene can contribute to a variety of ailments, including gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, strokes and much more. Because more than just the attractiveness of your smile is at stake, it is very important to create a dental health routine that works for you. Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride Treatments: One of the best ways to prevent tooth decay is by strengthening the enamel on your teeth through the regular application of fluoride. It bonds to tooth enamel to minimize the damage done by acids and sugars.
Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a plastic material that is usually applied to the back teeth, or premolars and molars. This plastic resin bonds into the depressions and grooves, or pits and fissures, of the chewing surfaces of those molars.

Fillings
The most familiar type of filling for most of us is probably the silver, or amalgam, filling. Some amalgam fillings have been called mercury fillings, because some amalgam fillings contained mercury. Metal fillings were effective, but very conspicuous and tended to blacken in color over time.
Resin Composite
Composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. Tooth colored fillings colored to look like a natural tooth, known as Composite Resin Dental Fillings, are made of a plastic dental resin. Tooth colored fillings or composite resin dental fillings are strong and durable, and make for a very natural looking smile. Many dental insurance plans cover their use.
Veneers
The process of getting veneers is fairly simple. The procedure can be completed in just two visits, generally with little or no help from anesthesia of any kind.
Crowns
– For chipped or broken teeth, save any pieces when possible. Rinse the mouth and any broken pieces with warm water. Use a cold compress to limit swelling and to relieve pain. If the tooth is Knocked-out, be sure to hold it by the crown, not by the roots, preserving any attached tissue fragments. Place the tooth in a container of milk and see your dentist as soon as possible.
Bridges
Dental bridges are natural-looking dental appliances that replace a single missing tooth or a section of missing teeth allowing a person to restore his or her ability to chew and speak properly, smile confidently, improve bite, and maintain facial structure, gum health and bone density in the jaw. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding requires a simple installation process, usually taking only 30 minutes to an hour per tooth to complete. Very little preparation is involved, and anesthesia is generally unnecessary unless the composite bonding is being applied to a decayed tooth.
Restorative Dentistry
A tooth filling is a type of restorative dentistry treatment used to repair minimal tooth fractures, tooth decay or otherwise damaged surfaces of the teeth.
