Lions World Services for the Blind, established in 1947, provides employment opportunities for persons who are blind or visually impaired, in Little Rock, Ark. The nonprofit organization offers various personal adjustment programs, more than 10 vocational courses, vision rehabilitation clinics and training, an assisted technology learning center, job placement assistance, and college preparatory programs. It offers vocational training pertaining to various employment fields, such as contact collection representation, assisted technology instruction, bicycle assembly and repair, enterprise solutions programming, taxpayer service representation, horticulture, Microsoft computer systems engineering, small-business management, and word processing. The organization also offers vocational evaluation through various tests, such as assessments of aptitude, interests and academic skills, and work samples. Its other services include psychosocial services, specialized courses, computer-related training and employer education workshops. Lions World Services for the Blind is accredited by the National Accreditation Council of Agencies Serving the Blind and Visually Impaired.
