Update: IT IS GOING TO COST US $1,000 TO FIX THIS MAN'S MESS!!!



Siding that was installed has unevenly spaced. Some lap 1 1/2", some lap 3". No flashing used where it should have been where siding meets lower level roof, so we will likely have leaks under the siding if not redone. Openings in to the house (vents, etc) were not caulked around edges.



Quality is unacceptable. Check for errors, if he turns off the water, make sure it is COMPLETELY reopened. Charges by the hour, so be careful. We experienced multiple problems and would not recommend Fred Rice or Complete Construction to anyone.



Built a small wall for us in a back entryway, didn't pay attention to crown, wall looks like a snake, very wavy. Several days after the work was done we noticed poor water pressure in the house. We did not correlate it with the work Fred had just done. Paid several hundred dollars in water line repair work, changing out a regulator, only to find that didn't solve the problem. As we were trying to analyze the problem and calculate the next step, we checked the main water line in the house. Fred had opened it only half way. No wonder there was no water pressure! I now wonder if this was intentional, but, of course, we'll never know because we'll never let him back on the property. Too many problems!!



Installed a kitchen window to be over a sink in a kitchen remodel, window is 1" off center. When questioned he said "you had a mark on the floor, I transferred that to the wall." what carpenter doesn't pull his own measurement before making a cut?



Installed a new door for us, one of his workers got spray foam insulation all over a new hand towel, paper towels were right there. Also got it on the sink handles. And I recently found some on a pitcher that had been sitting by the sink.



Resided one side of house for us, got the job half done, left the job with a huge hole in the side of the house for over a week during 20 degree weather, and expected payment immediately, before the job was even done. We had to hound him for over one week to get him to come finish the job, and it still isn't complete or right. One piece of vinyl at the very top wasn't replaced, didn't replace the gutter and didn't replace the cables for the two dish services we have. When asked about these items he said he'd schedule us after he was paid for the job. The trim around the window is right, wasn't installed right. when we asked him about it his response was, "I used what you provided".



This man takes no responsibility for his work and still expects to be paid for a lousy job. Less than one week after completing the siding (or his version of completing the job), he said he'd be buy to pick up a check. We had it wrote out and waiting on him. He never showed. The next morning we get an email accusing us of evading payment and he is threatening to put a lien on our house. It hasn't even been 7 days since the work was "completed."



He won't be back on our property. We don't recommend him to anyone.
