Autism
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) has been empirically shown to be effective in a wide variety of areas, including parent training, substance abuse treatment, dementia management, brain injury rehabilitation, occupational safety intervention, among others. However, because ABA was first applied to the treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, this practice area has the largest evidence base and has received the most recognition.

Tori Hovey, MS, OTRL, graduated with honors from Saginaw Valley State University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Medicine. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree in 2020. She has fieldwork experience working in schools, inpatient rehabilitation, correctional facilities and acute care. Tori also has special interests in pediatrics, mental health, sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders, which stems from her 2+ years of working as a Behavior Technician. She loves working on multidisciplinary teams and seeing her clients progress. In her free time, Tori enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
Behavioral Health
Behavior analysis is the science of behavior, with a history extending back to the early 20th century. Its underlying philosophy is behaviorism, which is based upon the premise that attempting to improve the human condition through behavior change (e.g., education, behavioral health treatment) will be most effective if behavior itself is the primary focus, rather than less tangible concepts such as the mind and willpower. To date, basic behavior-analytic scientists have conducted thousands of studies to identify the laws of behavior; that is, the predictable ways in which behavior is learned and how it changes over time. The underlying theme of much of this work has been that behavior is a product of its circumstances, particularly the events that immediately follow the behavior. Applied behavior analysts have been using this information to develop numerous techniques and treatment approaches for analyzing and changing behavior, and ultimately, to improve lives. Because this approach is largely based on behavior and its consequences, the techniques generally involve teaching individuals more effective ways of behaving and making changes to social consequences of existing behavior.

Physical Therapy is a branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities. PT is appropriate for many types of patients from infants with developmental delays to adults suffering from the after effects of injury or surgery to elderly post stroke patients. The purpose of physical therapy is to get a person back to the point where he or she can perform normal, everyday activities without difficulty. Joint range of motion and strengthening are the primary focus of most physical therapy sessions. Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants provide exercises designed to preserve the strength and use of your joints. They show you the best was to move from one position to another and can also teach you how to use walking aids such as crutches, walkers or canes, if necessary.
Occupational Therapy
Morgan Hellenbrand-Han, MS, OTR/L has a bachelor's degree in psychology and graduated with a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2012. Morgan has been with CSTC since June of 2015. In addition to seeing clients she is the Director of Operations. Morgan previously worked in early intervention in Massachusetts and has experience in sensory integration from her fieldwork. Morgan enjoys working with children and families on sensory processing and feeding difficulties. Morgan has completed courses in the Therapressure Protocol, Astronaut Training Program, Rhythmic Movement Training (RMTi), and feeding. In her free time Morgan enjoys running and completing triathlons.
