The Independence Fire Department offers a range of life and property safety services. It provides a range of fire prevention and emergency medical response services. The department also offers a variety of fire control and public education services. Its operations division serves the community with response to fires and explosions, bomb threats, vehicle accidents and hazardous chemical spills. The Independence Fire Department s fire prevention bureau specializes in code enforcement, building plans review, fire safety education and fire investigations. It also maintains alarm records and reports and develops statistical data, as well as publishes annual report. Additionally, the department has training and services divisions.
