Family Practice
Upon graduation Meridith returned to her home of North Texas. She gained experience in general medicine, practicing in a Family Medicine setting in North Dallas. This experience has helped establish a foundation in which she can grow her dermatology knowledge. Meridith has trained closely with Dr. Spencer, and currently works under his supervision to examine, diagnose and treat medical and cosmetic dermatology patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants.

As a leading Frisco dermatologist, Dr. Brent Spencer excelled, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Here he was awarded the elite distinction of membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, being amongst the top percent of his medical school class with the endorsement of his peers. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch before proceeding onto his dermatology residency at the Texas A&M Health Science Center at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX.

Mohs Surgery
The Mohs surgery procedure is done under local anesthesia. Photographs are taken before, during and after surgery. The majority of your time will be spent waiting for the slide preparation and interpretation. Once the tissue has been surgically removed, the wound is dressed with a temporary bandage and you will be escorted to a private waiting area to rest while the tissue is being processed. Our tranquil Mohs waiting area offers HDTV, Wifi, and a snack bar. The number of times you return to the surgical suite for removal of tissue is determined by the results of microscopic examination of the tissue. The tumor may require only one stage for complete removal or multiple stages. The surgery is continued until the tumor is completely removed by the microscopic examination. You should plan to spend the entire day in the clinic. The procedure may last from a couple of hours to several hours, rarely running into the next day.
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Brent Spencer is double board certified in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery practicing in Frisco, TX. He has completed an extensive fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery. He practices general dermatology and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on the intricate suturing techniques of facial and neck reconstructions. Additionally, he specializes in cosmetic dermatology, including laser treatments and cosmetic injectables, such as Botox and fillers.
