The timing belt on my 2005 Chevy Aveo failed while driving through Fort Mohave. I had my car towed to Independent (based on their yellow pages advertisement) - they said that the idler pulley failed which caused the timing belt to fail and all 16 valves were bent and twisted. This is what can be described as a major repair. It took Independent about a week to repair it but they did so at a reasonable cost. Not cheap, but a Chevy dealer would have replaced the engine for three to four times more cost (and profit for the dealer). Independent did a good job for me and I recommend them. When you go in, you are talking to the owner, not some sleazy service writer or commission repairman. The shop isn't the prettiest, or the neatest, or the cleanest, but they did good quality work and didn't rip me off. P.S.
