Maybe a good dentist if you have Medi-Cal but if you have better insurance go somewhere else!



I signed up with this dental group because at the time I had Medi-Cal and they were able to fit my family in quicker than any other Medi-Cal provider. My first experience with them was an initial visit for my 14 month old. The pediatric dentist was nice enough but then proceeded to tell me that I have been breastfeeding for too long and for the health of the baby's teeth that I needed to stop breastfeeding right away! I told her that my pediatrician had congratulated me just the week before for continuing to breastfeed. She then persisted by telling me that the ADA recommends that mothers quit breastfeeding at 12 months. I looked into this and that is not true.

My next experience was an appointment that was scheduled for my son for an initial appointment. After confirming his appointment with me more than twice the office cancelled his appointment 1 hour and 15 minutes before he was scheduled to be seen. They called my phone and gave me a reason for cancelling and I had them call my son's father because he was the one taking time off of work to bring him to the appointment. They then gave his dad a completely different excuse for cancelling the appointment! My son's dad works two different jobs and had taken off early for the first job and cancelled the second job to bring my son to this dentist. If we had been the ones to cancel at such short notice we would have been billed for a missed appointment! When I called the office back to inquire about hearing two different excuses for them cancelling the appointment the office manager was quite rude about it and lied about giving two different excuses.

The clincher? Today I got an email from Folsom Hills Dentistry stating that I had been the one who cancelled my son's appointment! I called the office manager again and she acted clueless. I forwarded the email to her but have not heard back.
