Tractor Supply Co

We would like to shop at the nearby Fallston Tractor Supply, but their aggressive personal data collection drives us away. Today we went in for some farm stuff and decided to pay cash, hoping that would fend off their constant intrusive questions about our zip code, phone number, address, and age, but no ---- the cashier DEMANDED (not requested) our phone number. A lot of people lie when asked for this type of information, but I don't like to lie and it just encourages every store in Harford County to try to get all our Big Data so they can resell us all for targeted advertising. This is a terrible practice and we don't mean to go there anymore. I hope other customers will rebel and refuse to give them all the information they demand. They are reselling it to advertisers, and we've been flooded with truly stupid magazines and catalogs and ad circulars from their selling us in the Aberdeen Tractor Supply.

They have a right to collect money for their products --- but do they have a right to collect all our personal information? I hope you will join me in saying no.
