Last Call Construction

I was recommended Last Call Construction by a friend in Bloomington to do some work for my mother. She is elderly and lives alone in the house I grew up in. I originally called to have some wooden steps replaced for her porch as they were rotting. I don't live in the area anymore so I couldn't do it myself.



I spoke with Cliff when I called and explained the situation. He suggested that since my mother wouldn't be staying in the house for too many more years that I get do a home inspection and start to fix things up so there are no surprises if and when we want to sell. I said that it wasn't on the market yet and I didn't want to pay a home inspector to do. He apologized for the confusion and said that he wasn't advising me to spend money on a home inspector. Instead, he said he'll look things over while he's there fixing the steps and get back to me with his "report". I was expecting a laundry list of things but was very happy when he called me back to report that only a few inexpensive repairs were needed. I ended up getting a "home maintenance contract" where he stops by quarterly and performs 4 hours worth of work as he sees fit with my approval.



That was 6 months ago and he has gone back twice. One time he replaced the kitchen linoleum and another he replaced the garage door opener. My mother said that she likes Cliff very much and looks forward to his visits. If you knew my mother, that is quite a complement.
