Overall

My niece & I toured TLC, late afternoon. The children were outside.

No director on sight: Gabby, a "teacher", gave us the tour. I have a degree in Early Childhood, worked with young children 15yrs & taught preschool; Care was needed for 18m & 3yr old. I asked "A LOT" of questions! Children may play 15min, then move on to another center. No pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, paper or paint out for the children to use on a daily basis. "Art" is done / teacher, & themed. :o( Discipline: time out, no problem, until we left! I was called by the director;

"There was a problem, we would not be a good fit". Time outs: children are set in chairs, high chairs for the young & faced toward the wall! I made the statement earlier that this was abusive, had happened in the past & felt the person should have been fired. TLC is very regimented, found it to be militant. You may not visit the classroom for lunch or a project. An open door policy is best for children. Problems at TLC!!

Overall
We called this center about en...

We called this center about enrolling my 19 month old daughter and was told by the director when to come. When we got there, she acted as though we were interrupting her busy day and did not smile at me or even acknowledge my husband who was holding our daughter (he is hispanic, I am pretty sure that had something to do with her nasty attitude.) She did not acknowledge my daughter except to ask how old she was. All of the children were outside when she showed us the classroom, so we let our daughter down. She walked over to the toys and reached for one. Then Brandy (director) said,"Now that's gonna be a problem for her- they are only allowed to play with those at a certian time." VERY RUDELY, which translated to me in other words "get your kid, I don't want her touching those toys." Instead of focusing on making the transition to daycare easier for my daughter,she was already calling her a "problem." Any questions I asked were answered very curtly and she didn't dare elaborate on anything- her attitude made it clear that she felt we were not good enough for her upper crust child care center. NEVER ONCE did she attempt to interact with my child or husband, and only spoke to me when forced to answer a question I asked. I have never in my life felt so discriminated against. She made it clear from the time she saw us that we were not welcome there.

I left in shock and took my child to Kiddie Care, and immediately felt welcomed by director Keisha. They are less expensive and have better hours (even Saturdays!) I am so glad Brandy at Trinity was such a rude, seemingly racist SNOB. First impressions are everything, and if that elitist attitude is what they teach the kids, I don't want my child there in the first place.
