General Info

The California Department of Social Services is comprised of more than 4,200 employees and works to protect children and adults in the state. The department maintains over 50 offices and nearly 55 county welfare departments. It serves low-income individuals and people with disabilities. The department s Children and Family Services Division offers assistance with adoption, foster care and child welfare.
