Pediatric Care
Our award-winning pediatricians, Dr. Radis, Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Varghese, Dr. Donovan-Hunt, and Dr. Gliksberg are all board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our doctors are available to treat your children at our offices every day of the year.
Ear Infections
Children still need routine care, medication checks, and evaluation for illnesses even during this epidemic. Just in the past 3 days alone, we have already seen 19 children with influenza, 5 with ear infections, 6 with bacterial pneumonia, and 14 with strep throat. If your child is scheduled for a routine visit and you or your child have developed cough or fever, please call us and let us know ahead of time so the doctor can decide if your child needs evaluation in our office or is better off rescheduling their appointment. If your child is well, please keep your scheduled appointment as our office is currently NOT a risk to your child’s health. The situation remains fluid and if COVID-19 continues to spread we may need to switch to sick visits only, but for now we are open for routine medical care as usual.
Emergency Care
For now, we recommend that patients who have been exposed to the novel coronavirus but are asymptomatic should self-quarantine for 14 days. Those who have been exposed to coronavirus and are having symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath should call us and we will we evaluate them by telemedicine and then direct them to the appropriate place for testing and evaluation if necessary. Please do not simply show up to an emergency room or testing facility on your own.
Infectious Diseases
Dr Varghese did her Pediatric Residency Training at University of Illinois Hospital (Chicago) after completion of a year of research at Childrens Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr Varghese was born in India and did her Medical School training at the University of Kerala Medical College in Trivandrum. She moved to the US in 1998 and after completion of her Pediatric Residency training worked for a year at the University of Illinois Medical Center in the ER and Ambulatory Care Center. She enjoys teaching and feels that every visit is an opportunity to discuss the situation with the parents and help them understand the theory of disease and treatment. She really treasures the partnership that is formed between the parents and herself which in turn helps in the well being of the children we serve. Her special interests are Infectious Diseases, Asthma and Allergy and Childhood development. She lives in the Western suburbs with her husband, two boys and daughter.

Labor and Delivery
You have a choice who your pediatrician will be for your child. Be sure to let the labor and delivery staff, and your obstetrician, know that you have selected Associated Pediatric Partners for your baby’s care – our phone number is 847-498-3434. They will let us know when your baby is born

We can assess a number of behavioral and emotional issues, such as anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, developmental issues, self-esteem struggles, autism, learning disabilities, chronic and terminal illnesses, ADD/ADHD, adoption adjustment, divorce/blended families, parenting issues, adjustment disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

We started utilizing telemedicine/video visits this week and have already seen over 40 patients utilizing this technology. While it can only be used for conditions that do not require an in-person physical examination, it is an exciting new option for those who cannot leave their homes due to quarantine. Dr. Donovan-Hunt was raised in the Boston suburbs and completed her undergraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University. She earned her Masters degree while researching at the Ireland Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to earn her Medical Degree at Medical College of Ohio and did her pediatric residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Dr. Donovan-Hunt has experience as both a pediatric hospitalist for Children’s Memorial Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has been in general pediatric care since 2000 in the northern Chicago suburbs. Special areas of interests are sports medicine, asthma and allergies, newborn care, genetics and international health. She is a dedicated pediatrician and educator, active in teaching residents, medical students and nurses. She resides in Lake Bluff with her husband and three children.
