Colon Cancer
Colorectal disease is an area of special interest for a couple of our surgeons. Colorectal surgery is a field dealing with the disorders of the colon (large intestine), rectum and anus. Colorectal issues include colon cancer, rectal cancer, anal cancer, diverticulitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis), anal fissures and anal fistula. Surgical treatments include laparoscopic and robotic colectomy, colostomy, hemorrhoidectomy and fistulotomy.
Lung Cancer
Procedures we commonly perform include: laparoscopic and robotic gastrointestinal procedures addressing surgical issues of the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, appendix, gallbladder, spleen, adrenal and abdominal wall (such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy or gallbladder surgery, complex hernia repairs (inguinal, ventral, umbilical, incisional, lumbar and hiatal), laparoscopic and robotic colorectal procedures that address colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, intestinal blockage, colon polyps and inflammatory bowel disease -- Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis (such as lap/robotic colectomy – partial or complete removal of the colon and lysis of adhesions), anorectal procedures to treat hemorrhoids, anal cancer, anal fissures and anal fistula, thoracic procedures to treat achalasia, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, mediastinal tumors, pleural effusions and recurrent pneumothorax and heartburn/GERD surgery utilizing procedures such as laparoscopic/robotic fundoplications, hiatal hernia repairs, and LINX procedure.

General Surgery
Dr. Michael Siegman is a board certified general and thoracic surgeon in practice since 1995. He is also a faculty member of the American College of Surgeons.Dr. Siegman graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a degree in Biology in 1983. He received his medical degree in 1986 also from Brown University as part of their seven-year program in liberal medical education. He completed his general surgery residency training in 1993 at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York.During his residency training Dr. Siegman spent two years as a clinical fellow in the cardiac surgery branch of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. While at the National Institutes of Health Dr. Siegman participated in clinical studies as well as original research in the field of thoracic surgery and authored multiple publications.Following the completion of his residency in general surgery in 1993, Dr. Siegman entered a thoracic surgery fellowship program at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas under the guidance of Dr. Denton A. Cooley. He spent a year at the MD Anderson Cancer Institute as part of this program specializing in thoracic malignancies.Upon completion of his fellowship training in 1995 Dr. Siegman began practice in the New York – New Jersey region in both private practice as well as at the Hackensack University Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 2003 Dr. Siegman relocated his practice to Tampa and began Suncoast Surgical Associates, P.A.Dr. Siegman is board certified and re-certified in both general and thoracic surgery. He has performed over 3000 general and thoracic operative procedures. He has years of experience with both open as well as minimally invasive techniques for both specialties.

Robotic Surgery

Dr. In Soon Park is a board certified general surgeon since 2002. He grew up in Jersey City, NJ. He obtained his Chemical engineering degree at Columbia University in NYC, NY in 1991. He graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, UMDNJ, in Piscataway, NJ in 1995. He did his general surgery training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, NY and finished in 2000.After his residency, he became an assistant professor of surgery at Mount Sinai University and work primary at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY until 2002. He moved to Long Island in 2002 and joined a private surgical group. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 2005 and joined Dr. Siegman at Suncoast Surgical Associates.He performs all types of gastrointestinal surgery. He has particular interest and expertise in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery. He has performed routine laparoscopic surgery (including cholecystectomy, hernia repair) to advance laparoscopic surgery such as adrenelectomy, splenectomy, colon and resection. He also has expertise in treatment of anorectal disorders, especially in treatment of hemorrhoids. Most of hemorrhoid treatments are performed in office with no or minimal pain.
