For the past 14 years, our compassionate care, expertise and friendly environment in which we have created has produced many happy dog/human partnerships. With over 35 years of experience between us, there are very few options better for your families dog. Unlike many dog grooming, sitting and training businesses, you can feel at ease with It's A Dog's Life as the we are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and several local and national dog clubs. Through the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers, a national organization, we have earned the designation of Certified Pet Dog Trainers (CPDT). We have also been approved by the American Kennel Club as Canine Good Citizen Test Evaluators. Call to make an appointment and hear for yourself about the many services It's A Dog's Life provides. No matter what your needs are, we will do everything we can to make you & your family feel comfortable and confident that your dog receives the same love and care that he or she gets at home. Our location is just another aspect that we feel sets us apart from other dog care facilties. Your dog will enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside as we are set back away from the sights and sounds of cars, people and other modern day distractions. We offer two fully fenced in acres where your dog can safely enjoy the outdoors and get the fresh air that all dogs love and need. We provide bedding (quilts, sheepskins, polar-fleece blankets), stainless steel food dishes and water buckets, safe chew toys and bedtime treats. You provide your dog's regular food to prevent potential digestive upset. Our spots are limited and this is to ensures plenty of individual attention, exercise and playtime. We are also able to handle dogs with special needs such as geriatric dogs or those needing daily medications. This is just small sampling of It's A Dog's Life.         * Dog Training: We emphasize positive reinforcement for good behavior and strive to create a fun and motivational learning environment for both dog and owner. * Behavorial/Coaching Consultations: For those of you who need more specialized instruction than a class can offer, we provide private instruction and consultation. We can do this at our facility or in your home. * Boarding & Daycare Services: You'll love our quiet country location on 4+ acres and the calm environment our kennel provides. We offer boarding on a very limited basis in our home (not a separate building). This ensures plenty of individual attention, exercise and playtime. * Grooming: Available for both companion dogs and for show dogs. All dogs will love the gentle touch used. We have experience with a huge variety of breeds, both large and small. * Facility Rental: Rent our facility and equipment for obedience or agility practice. Play ball or frisbee with your dog. Have a doggie birthday party! We offer two fully fenced acres in a beautiful country setting. Our facility is also available for rental by small groups or clubs. Call to set up a rental appointment!

        Overall

        Lou has an intrinsic understanding of a dog's behavior which he quickly applies to all situations. Our very stubborn 5 year old, female Welsh Terrier was responding to commands in a short time during the first class! Very methodical and easy to follow. Going back as soon as possible for more advanced training.

        Our highest recommendation!

        Luis and Tina Avery of Its a Dog Life run an exemplary business of grooming, boarding, daycare and training for all kinds of dogs. Prior to finding them, we tried using various dog walkers, or dog playgroups in our local area but found them to be expensive, inconsistent and unreliable and our dog wasn't getting the long periods of exercise and socialization that most dog breeds really need. We were thrilled when we began bringing our springer spaniel puppy here several years ago and have been using their services every week since then. Our dog comes home happy and, most importantly, TIRED! Luis and Tina have a large, well-contained outdoor space for dogs to run and play. The dog kennels are clean and well maintained and each dog's personal needs are met with care and love. Its a Dog's Life has our highest recommendation.

        My dog loves this place. Tina and Luis have taught me so much about my Yellow Lab through obdeience training and she really is super comfortable with them. They are in the perfect setting, off the beaten path, so peaceful. I definitely recomment It's a Dog's Life to anyone stressing over day care or boarding for your dog.
