Dr. Victor E Payton, MD

Dr. Payton was named #1 Pediatrician in Athens, Georgia 2010 by The Banner Herald Online and I strongly agree. My sons agree also, even though they are college age, they still want to stay with Dr. Payton. Congratulations to Dr. Payton and his staff, I am thankful to have had Dr. Payton take care of my sons over the years.

Dr. Payton has a quick and efficient staff that knows insurance billing well!! Dr Payton ask lots of questions and does a thorough exam. My son had consistent coughing problems due to allergies and a low immune system. Dr. Payton diagnosed the symptoms well, instead of spending 2 minutes with us and giving us prescription after prescription that would of hurt my son's immune system more.

Dr. Payton is amazing! He became our doctor after an insurance change when our daughter was only 8 months old. We brought her to his office for a sick visit after she had a seizure. Before he entered the exam room, she had had another seizure. He sent us to the hospital. While this is not the ideal way to meet someone, we soon learned how very much he loved our child and our family. He was at the hospital with us for many hours over the next few days. We have two children now and he shows the same care for the second. Both have had to be hospitalized and have had several emergency visits to the hospital. Dr. P is always there, we don't even go to the ER, we just meet him there. He calls to check in on the kids when we haven't seen him for a while. He even came to both of their first birthday parties. He is a wonderful doctor and exceptional person. My daughter wants to be a doctor just like Dr. Payton when she grows up.

Dr Payton is great. He is thourough and funny and relly cares about his patients. I had an appointment at 10:30 did not leave until 12:00! When I went to the window @ 11:00 to ask how much longer, both girls seen me and not one ackgnowledged me for 5 min! (they finally did when they seen I was getting frustrated) When she opened she asked me what I needed and I responded with "I had a 10:30 appointment". Her response was "yes?" Trying not to blow a gasket I informed her that it was 11:05 and patients that came in after me were seen before me. Needless to say I was seen within the next 15 min. Little frustrating when you have a 5 mo old who is on a feeding & nap schedule that must be accomodated. What is the purpose for an appointment?
