BEWARE!! DO NOT HIRE!!!!!This lawyer is very unethical and rude. He is nice in the initial contact, but once your check clears, you become a nonfactor. He represented a family member and gave our family the run around and out right lied to us the whole time. He is a slick, fast talker and treats you like you don't know or have rights. He was never prepared in court and extended the case out for no good reason. He does not correspond at all his client nor their family. We are very disappointed with the service he provided or lack of!!

Criminal Defense
I am a dedicated advocate for those charged with violation of a criminal law. Those who don’t believe that a person charged with a crime is entitled to zealous representation, don’t understand or comprehend the charter on which this country was founded. DUI/DWI
Result: DUI driver plowed into cyclists, seriously injuring M.E. B.M. escaped serious injury. We filed a lawsuit and reached a confidential settlement for full policy limits for both cyclists, even though B.M. escaped any real physical injury.
Wrongful Death
Result: Driver ran into another vehicle and killed one passenger and seriously injured another. Negligent driver on carried minimum 25K in insurance. However, through independent investigation we discovered driver was making a delivery for UBER Eats at the time and there was an additional 1 million dollars in insurance available which we were able to collect for the family.
Traffic Violations
Result: Bench trial: Not Guilty: The Defendant was stopped for speeding and put through field sobriety. Officer claimed he smelled weed and alcohol. Defendant took field sobriety and was arrested for DUI. The deputy asked for a blood test and the Defendant refused. We rejected all offers and proceeded to trial and the Defendant was found "Not Guilty" of DUI and Child Endangerment.
Sex Crimes
Result: All charges dismissed prior to indictment due to successful and intensive investigation done by defense. Additional witnesses found who cast serious doubt on allegation of rape.
Robbery
Result: Charges dismissed. Defendant was accused of committing an armed robbery and aggravated assault, alleging he stole $30,000.00. Defendant was arrested and locked up with no bond. Defendant denied the charges and we produced alibi witnesses and cell phone video evidence proving the Defendant was elsewhere at the time of the assault.

Drug Crimes
Result: Defendant was stopped by Athens Police Officer and after vehicle search, Defendant was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. I belived the Defendant was profiled and the stop was unconstitutional. We fought the case at a motion to suppress hearing and the motion was granted and all charges dismissed. My client's car, which the State attempted to forfeit, was returned.
Assault
Result: Dismissal: The Defendant was charged with aggravated assault for shooting an individual. He claimed self defense. After a long process the Defendant was offered 20 do 6 the week before trial. Defendant refused the offer and announced "Ready for trial." The case was dismissed prior to trial.
Murder
Result: Jury Trail: Client was charged with malice murder and felony murder in that State alleged he intentionally ran over and killed victim. Defendant faced a mandatory 30 year sentence with no parole if convicted. He was found "not guilty" of malice murder and felony murder and convicted of Vehicular Homicide. He received a 7 year sentence and is eligible for parole. He will more than likely serve about 2 years.

Property Damage
I have represented over 100 cyclists who have been injured by negligent or inattentive drivers. Some cases involve property damage only, while others sadly involve serious injury and death. Many have been personal friends. I am an avid cyclist, and have been so for almost 30 years. I raced for almost 20 years, spending the majority of my time on the legendary Athens Bandag Team based out of Athens, Georgia. I presently run the Winter Bike League in Athens, Georgia ( www.winterbikeleague.com ). I have handled serious cycling injury cases all over the United States including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, California, and Tennessee. (Local rules typically allow me to associate with a local lawyer on any case.) I believe that having a lawyer who is also an experienced cyclist is a huge advantage for a cyclist-client.
